This may be old news to some of you, but I just caught Judd Apatow firing James Franco from the set of KNOCKED UP after the actor fell victim to his ego and unleashed an arsenal of F-bombs on Apatow and poor Kristen Wiig, and it's hilarious. Franco is pals with Apatow from their FREAKS AND GEEKS days and based on this clip, there's some unresolved issues lurking around. This is a nice companion piece to the video of Michael Cera getting fired from KNOCKED UP, and here's hoping that more of these surface online and on the DVD extras as well.

James Franco gets fired as lead role in Knocked Up

That's Great!
"It's more like a collaborative shit", priceless! John Franco isn't so bad, he impressed me with his "Freaks and Geeks" performance. Terrible in everything else though. We'll see what he can do when teamed up with Apatow again on The Pineapple Express.

Not Real
I hate Franco as much as the next guy, and want this to be real, but it's not...sorry...this would have never seen the light of day if it were. But it actually did score Franco some points in my book, which, after Annapolis, i would have never thought to be possible.

It starts out like any other [link] fuck-you-it's-not, actor-director fight. But when it gets really funny it is obviously a set-up. I don't think it's scripted because it's Judd Apatow (we all know (and love the fact that) he doesn't think much of scripted dialogue). But not only is that a giveaway, look at any other interview with James...

But not only is that a giveaway, look at any other interview with James Franco, he's a pussykat, he would never h-bomb on someone like that for something like that. But it's hilarious nonetheless, it works. Oh and look at Katherine Heigl's face when Franco is roaring and rampaging, now that's priceless. Oh, I love that girl.

LOL @
Apatow: I don't understand. So you're still mad about Freaks and Geeks?

Franco: FUCK YES!!

That was classic! Man Franco is such a good sport. It's cool to see these scripted 'behind-the-scenes' with them actors having a good sense of humor.

It's meant for the fangirls like me...
... those of us who STILL obsess over the fact that Freaks and Geeks was canceled. This is totally scripted (my guess is that it's Apatow's joke counterpoint to the videos of Lily Tomlin going off on the I HEART HUCKABEES set) and it's meant to take a poke at those of us who still say that the show was the best thing they'd ever seen on television. (It was.)

There was an interview with Alan Tudyk that I watched not too long ago where he said that Apatow likes to turn on the camera and then just allow the actors to riff for a couple hours on a 5 minute scene, just for the hell of it. Personally, I love that idea.

That was so fucking scripted, but very funny, nonetheless.

"Who's Sam Raimi?"
"Who's Sam Raimi, good luck with your fucking monologue."

Yup...totally scripted.
Chuckister is right...why else would there be perfectly edited cuts between Judd and James? :D

I...
seriously do not know if these videos are meant to be taken seriously...because I found that in this one with James, and the other with Michael, at one point they both seem as if they are going to burst with laughter.

"Who's Sam Raimi?" Aww...priceless...
