Apatow gathers more

Humor ringleader Judd Apatow has pulled in yet more comedic types for his next project, which is now going by the seemingly appropriate title FUNNY PEOPLE.

Quirky Coppola family member Jason Schwartzman (RUSHMORE) will join the already-cast Adam Sandler, Leslie Mann and Seth Rogen in the movie, which is set in the world of stand-up comedy and focuses on a guy who has a near-death experience (that’s all the detail Apatow’s giving!). The movie is expected to be more entertaining than PUNCHLINE.

Joining Schwartzman is the previously rumored Aussie comic turned hunky serious actor Eric Bana, and — surprise! — SUPERBAD kid Jonah Hill, who actually started out with Schwartzman in I HEART HUCKABEES. (I believe Schwartzman got into the Apatow clique with his appearance as Ringo Star in WALK HARD.)
