Apparently Adam Sandler's kids hate Adam Sandler movies

04.10.2017

CinemaBlend reports that Adam Sandler was on THE ELLEN DeGENERES SHOW recently, and he revealed that his daughters - Sadie and Sunny - aren't big fans of their father's work. Here's what Sandler had to say, in his own words:

I’ll put them on. Because they beg to see them. They’re like, “Please, it’s not fair! Let me watch your movies. Those people always yell things at you on the street. I don’t know what the heck they’re talking about.” So I show them the movies—they demand this—and they get, every time, I’d say about 20 minutes in, and then I see them tuning out, and then I hear them. They’re nervous to say it, but like, “Can we watch something else?”

As someone who never really liked Adam Sandler, this doesn't come as a surprise to me. I've liked a few when I was younger (HAPPY GILMORE, WEDDING SINGER, LITTLE NICKY), but honestly hate most of the rest (especially BILLY MADISON. I can see some of his other films I don't like being defended, but that one is hot garbage in my opinion). So, anyway, it's good to hear that at least his kids have good taste.

But what about you Schmoes? Any Sandler fans out there? And if so, how would you guys rank his oeuvre? Sound off below!

Meanwhile, Sandler's latest film HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 will be released in theaters sometime next year.

Extra Tidbit: I actually think he's decent when he does dramatic roles, and honestly how tired and worn out he looks during his more recent films, that actually might be for the best all around.

He does have the potential to do better

When I first saw the previews for "Billy Madison", I thought..."yeah..no thanks." But, finally saw it a year or so later, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I laughed. Same goes for "Happy Gilmore". There are a few others that I think are cute, harmless, and have enough funny moments to keep me interested. Such as "50 First Dates", "The Wedding Singer", and "Click". And, plenty of just awful movies. But, I wish he would venture more into dramatic roles. "Punch Drunk Love" is a great

He is fantastic in that role, and showed that he can actually act. "Funny People" and "Spainglish" also showed that, though not to the extent as "PDL". Clearly he is steering away from those kinds of roles with the new Netflix stuff. Too bad. I enjoy watching comedians take turns in serious films. Tom Hanks, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Steve Martin...have all shown they can do both quite well.
Hell, I can't wait to see Danny McBride in "Alien:Covenent", in what looks to be more than a comic relief role.

I HATE ADAM SADLER!!! He's been stealing people's money for the last 15 years but no one seems to care.

I have to admit the first time I saw Billy Madison I thought it was stupid, but after a repeat viewing I actually enjoyed it. I think his best films are (in no particular order) Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2, Grown Ups, Funny People, Click, Spanglish, The Wedding Singer, Airheads, 50 First Dates, Click, and the very underrated Reign Over Me.

Seems legit

That confirms it. Sandler movies suck because some 10 year-old girls said so.

Also, Justin Bieber is like, sooooo underrated and Shawshank Redemption is about boring old people.

Early Adam Sandler was a good fun time. Happy Gilmore and the Waterboy, and even a sweet time as Wedding Singer and 50 first dates were great date movies. Billy Madison however you are correct I was not a fan of at all, with the exception of the everyone is dumber now god have mercy on your soul line.

That's my boy

His early movies were good, his recent work doesn't interest me although that's my boy was much better than I expected and found it pretty funny.

Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates might be some of the sweetest romantic comedies ever. Especially Wedding Singer. It's not always magic when he pairs with Drew Barrymore (Blended) but he's got a good chemistry with her

Adam Sandler has some great movies. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Punch Drunk Love, Waterboy. As well as some solid ones Fifty First Dates, Little Nicky, Wedding Singer, Mr. Deeds. He just seems to have gotten lazy in the last decade.

I could be wrong, but he seems like a genuine dude; it can't be easy getting constant negative feedback, even if some of it is deserved. I think Netflix is the perfect match for "art" and "artist," I'm sure i'll be checking out more of his stuff then I would have in the past.
