Apple offers rentals

06.11.2007

Apple Now that Apple is done cornering the online music market, they're apparently setting their sights on taking over the online film rental market. They've recently entered into talks with studios about launching an online film rental service that would compete against cable and satellite TV operators' VOD (Video On Demand) services as well as similar services offered by Microsoft Xbox Live, Movielink and Unbox. They already have deals in place with Disney and Paramount for full-length feature downloads so it's a safe bet at least these two studios will endorse this venture. And, there's a very good chance they'll manage to convince most of the other studios to sign up because, really, people want to be in the Apple download business. What do you guys think about it?

I'm for it as long as they have older films I've been wanting to see (Robocop,Rocky,Color Of Money) and not just current shit (Saw,Hostel,The Wild) I could care less about.

iPhone rocks

Have you seen the iPhone commercials? That thing is fucking pimp. If I had the extra dough to drop on it, I would. Though I don't really like first generation things. It's just so damn handy, full of things I'd probably never use, but still, god damn.

As for the movie rentals. They already have TV shows and music, seems logic enough and with their launch of Apple TV, it makes perfect sense and gives much more purpose for Apple TV.

Although I can bet they wont offer it in Canada because

Although I can bet they wont offer it in Canada because the brodcasting companies are Nazis. Or whoever it is who stops them from letting us download movies/tv shows. Bastards.

Fridge... Really?

It cures cancer?!?!?!!!! This is amazing! How would it do that? Would I just press the phone against my lump and enable the bluetooth "cure cancer" function. This is a HUGE medical breakthrough - I'm really surprised I haven't heard about this in Australia. I'll buy 50 of them and never apply sun screen lotion ever again! ... wait a sec... that was a simile thingie, wasn't it? You tricked me for the last time, Fridge [shakes fist, wastes more time].
