Are there big plans for Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif after Thor: The Dark World?

10.28.2013

Jaimie Alexander was recently interviewed by Beyond the Trailer, and she was asked if there were any plans for her character after THOR: THE DARK WORLD. Her response?

"Oh yes. But I can't tell you why. But yes, you will."

Now, Alexander could be talking about starring in another Thor film, but the way she looks at the camera (see below) as she answers the question and how confident she is about plans for her character makes me think it could be something bigger or different. Maybe not a spin-off solo movie, but perhaps Thor and Loki won't be the only Asgardians appearing in other Marvel movies. With how big of a cinematic universe Marvel is creating, it only makes sense that some of these supporting characters could start showing up in other films. It'll be interesting to see if any of the events in the new movie hint towards what plans Marvel might have for her character.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Christopher Eccleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Rene Russo, and Kat Dennings will be released on November 8th, 2013.

Marvel always has "plans", but a lot of them never get beyond that point. I remember talks of solo War Machine, Hawkeye, another Hulk film, and other movies a few years ago. Now they seem to have been forgotten. I like what Marvel is doing, but I don't need a rumor that every character may get a spin-off or one-shot or cameo or whatever.

I was just thinking this is something interesting that could be done with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV show: have an Asgardian sent to Earth undercover. You now have a new, great addition the cast PLUS it improves the show a bit.
Why not Lady Sif? Jaimie Alexander is gorgeous, by the way.

Solo movie? No way. One-Shot. Absolutely.

Seriously, her starring in a one-shot really seems like the most obvious answer here.

spoilers

Considering the mid-credits scene of THOR 2, stepping the way to GotG, an Asgardian presence in this film, therefore in the upcoming confrontation with Thanos, would seems logical.
And I could imagine a Sif centric Marvel One-Shot...

She crosses universes and gets mistaken for the daughter of Hippolyta, is given the tiara and the lasso of truth and becomes ambassador to man's world?

I'm sure it says in her contract that she has signed on for more than two movies. It doesn't mean she will actually be in that many movies. Doesn't Samuel Jackson's contract specify twelve movies? When all is said and done he might not be in that many movies. That being said, there may be plans to have SHIELD, the Avengers, the Guardians, the Nova corps and the Asgardians all fighting on the same side against a common enemy. Logically this would be Thanos in which case everything is being

Love the character and the artress but I have no desire to see a whole marvel film based just on her. Marvel's got other better female heros they could get made.

If we can't have the main Avengers crossing into each other's films as much as we want to, then I would love to see the supporting characters make an appearance in other Avenger's films.

Why not have Sif appear in The Guardians of the Galaxy film or Ant Man? Or have War Machine appear in a Captain America film? There are endless possibilities to this and one that I would be excited to see.

I'm down for more Lady Sif, she is quite a pretty lady. My guess for these plans are either a one-shot or Sif might appear in Guardians
