Arkham inmates escape in this trailer for the next episode of Gotham

09.23.2015

According to our review of the first episode of season 2 of Gotham (you can read it here), the show is definitely turning into some darker territory. This is no more evident that Fox's "red-band" trailer for the next episode, which features some Arkham inmates having fun in the outside world. Blood, cleavage and a lot of laughs ensue in the trailer for the next episode!

While I haven't seen an episode of Gotham yet, word is that Fox can't decide on a tone for the show, often drifting from serious to campy in a matter of moments. I'm guessing they're going to take a cue from some of the other popular superhero TV shows and give this season a more serious edge. Time will tell if that's enough to keep viewers enthralled and pull in some new ones too.

Gotham airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. (EST) on Fox.

I like the show and for me the season 2 premier was a big positive in the right direction.

Loved the time warp aesthetic, but this reeks of desperation

"GOTHAM: SEASON TW-- hey! HEY! Come back! It's gonna be bett-- C'MON, bro!"
Almost wanted to catch up on this show, but they're just emptying out the toybox with no Batman figure in sight. Yeesh.

Isn't for me anymore

Don't get me wrong, I liked Gotham, but towards the end of the last season I became less interested.

Personally, what makes these villains so memorable is that they wouldn't have existed if Batman wasn't around, especially the Joker. They are a reaction to the Batman, not the other way around. Taking away that aspect has ruined the impact they could have had on me. I was expecting a slow burn. Having the city lead the characters into insanity, similar to Bruce and watching his parents

Having the city lead the characters into insanity, similar to Bruce and watching his parents murdered, until their insanity hits fever pitch when they see a man dressed as a bat running around in Gotham towards the end of the series.

And the whole Barbra going insane character arc... Good luck trying to find a turnaround for that and having the fans accept it.

Havenīt seen the first season. But i guess i give it a Chance (the lesbian angle sold me). :) BTW, I donīt think that guy is supposed to be the Joker. Would be too obvious. Maybe he will turn into the Mad Hatter?

It makes no sense to have 20 year old Joker running around

The "draw" this season is Joker being one of the big baddies. But it makes no sense that Joker is even around when Batman is like 13 years old. It doesn't help that Joker is really poorly acted and played by a kid who doesn't even try with the laugh. He is trying to imitate Heath Ledger but his balls haven't dropped so he sounds and looks more at home in the cast of Glee.
