Armored trailer

04.16.2009by:

Robberies (botched or otherwise) are the central theme of many a thriller, but good heist movies still aren't very common.

It remains to be seen how ARMORED will stack up, but it certainly has a solid cast -- Matt Dillon, Laurence Fisburne and Jean Reno, plus Skeet Ulrich, "It Kid" Columbus Short, "Heroes" star Milo Ventimiglia, "Prison Break" con Amaury Nolasco, and hey, was that Fred Ward? Yep!

I'm interested in seeing what director Nimrod Antal does with this -- while his horror flick VACANCY was slight, I really liked his debut KONTROLL, a comedy-thriller set entirely in the Budapest subway system.

Check out the trailer below or in HD at Apple.

Extra Tidbit: Hmmm. This thing does seem to be lacking the ladies, doesn't it?

@plissken2013

Sorry man, but IT IS A REMAKE of the french flick "le convoyeur". Go google it for yourself, if you don't believe me. But it's true that the original maybe had more suspense than action...

Anyone else here find it humorous that the director's name is Nimrod?

That guy...

Antal, sure knows how to shoot a movie (just bought the Kontroll DVD, Vacancy was pretty OK, not great, but still better than 99% of the torture porn crap Hollywood puts out these days).
And NO, it's not a remake of the excellent French movie "Le transporteur", with Albert Dupontel (A FRACKIN' GENIUS ACTOR AND A GREAT DIRECTOR, CHECK OUT HIS CULT MOVIES BERNIE, LE CREATEUR AND ENFERMES DEHORS), in which there was NO action until the last minutes of the movie.

I just saw this one...

It was called "The Take" and it starred John Leguizamo and Tyrese.

REMAKE!

This is the remake of a 2004 french flick called "Le convoyeur". The Original was great! Character driven with a lot of action. Check out the trailer here: [link]

Great cast, snoreworthy otherwise

This looks like a giant Straight-to-DVD flick. I will be shocked if this sees theaters at all, Really what a waste of this superb cast. Fishburne, Dillon, Jean Reno should be gold, this isn't going to be it unfortunately.

The set-up seems pretty formulaic, but the trailer is pretty stylish with a few elliptical references from Dillon that make me intrigued.

And where has Fred Ward been hiding lately? Really, I've been wondering when he'd show up again and do his thing.

Trailers

A competent trailer? Things need to happen in a trailer or else, guess what, its boring. What exactly is given away? That there is a heist, one guy doesn't really want to be involved, and something goes wrong so he has to make a choice. How exactly would you tell the story without giving at least a few plot points away. You wouldn't, because no one would know what the movie was about, and therefore wouldn't go see it. This isn't Star Trek or Wolverine people don't just know what it is

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm guessing there is more to it than what is shown in the trailer, so wise up and don't criticize professionals who know a lot more about trailers than you do studbol69.

This one looks okay, your typical actioner dumped in Sept. From the early looks of Sept. 09, only this, Citizen Game, and Extract interest me, so I'll see it.

And Vacancy was pretty decent. I agree with the below post though, that trailer either revealed way too much or more twists are bound to happen.
