Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith to have their own 3D rerelease in the fall of 2013

Sigh.

STAR WARS: EPISODE II - ATTACK OF THE CLONES 3D arrives on September 20th, 2013.
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 3D arrives on October 11th, 2013.

What was that? You briefly had a new hope that after movie goers struck back by rewarding the release of STAR WARS: EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE 3D with a little over $100 million LucasFilm would... wait... a little over $100 million? Hardly the return of the fan we might have hoped for.  George and company seem to see (justifiably) that there's still plenty of money left to be made, and no argument or Star Wars-related puns/references from me are going to shoot first and stop it.

EPISODE II will be hitting theaters a week after THE LITTLE MERMAID 3D releases, while EPISODE III will be hitting theaters a week after SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR.  For a little counter programming you can go see Ron Howard's racing thriller RUSH with Chris Hemsworth instead of EPISODE II or Paul Greengrass' Somali-pirate-kidnap-drama CAPTAIN PHILLIPS with Tom Hanks instead of EPISODE III.

Always excited to see Star Wars in theatres. I'll be there enjoying myself while the "cool" Star Wars fans bitch about how greedy Lucas is on the internet.

haters, why not just ignore it if it bugs you that much?

I liked them, and with the good word on the 3D of these ones [link] I think I'll be checking these out in the theatre, Attack at least then we'll see from there.

I can't wait.

I enjoy watching all six films. I don't really car about the 3D, I just want to see them all in theaters again.

Hello Doctor,

I am not a hater. I am usually very positive on this site. I would say that my comments are usually in the green, some are in the grey (but my comments usually reflect a positive tone), very rarely are my comments in the red. So, I am clearly not a hater. Yes, I hate the Star Wars prequels for many many reason but that's ok.

That's cool dude if you don't like them. I just hate the entire tone of this article. "Oh my goodness. These movies are so horrible. Look how Lucas punishes us so by releasing them. Blah blah blah." I don't mind that there are people who don't like them, but I get really tired of this attitude that nobody likes them and we are somehow being abused by Lucas for making 3 more movies that aren't as universally loved as the original three. It's like the writer has to somehow show his nerd

It's like the writer has to somehow show his nerd cred when reporting this by taking this opportunity to take a jab at Lucas for being a money grubbing sleaze. It all Lucas cared about was money, then why hasn't he released the unaltered originals yet on blu ray? That would be a move that somebody who cared about money would make.

Can't wait!

As a lot of people on here know, I'm a big fan of the Star Wars prequels. What can I say? They're fun movies. I thought Episode I 3D was surprisingly well done and since this one is said to look better, now I'm even more stoked! Bring it on!

As a 501st member I see those 3D releases as a good opportunity to troop at several cinema's.

I like Episode III, IV, V, VI, so I'll maybe check them out in 3D. Maybe.
They should have done this prior to the Blu-Ray release. Before I bought them all in Hi-Def.

I might catch Episode 3 because that had the best story, but the worst acting, of the prequel trilogy. Anyways, I am more looking forward to seeing A New Hope on the big screen, hopefully the following year.

While all three prequels had bad acting, Ep. III was actually the LEAST terrible in that regard (and every other regard, for that matter).

Ep. III-VI

Episode III is the only prequel worth paying full price to see in the theater again. As for the original trilogy, I see those re-releases making a lot more money than any of the prequels, because they're vastly superior films overall (though Ep. III is comparable to VI, IMHO.

I just don't care...

I am working on editing all three Star Wars prequels together. I am hoping to make one passable movie out of those 3 train wrecks. In order to do this, I have to watch and rewatch these movies over and over and over again. The prequels, as they stand, are just horrible movies. The acting is bad (and stiff), the writing is atrocious, and the direction is bland. After I finish my edit, I will not care if ever see the prequels in their original forms again.

Oh you're one of those.. You might as well do that with the original trilogy too since they are so dated. Episodes III and V are the best of all the SW films and the only ones that can stand on their own.

See Below...

What he said. These are all about two things. Money and Ego. LucasArts never gets enough of one and Lucas has too much of the other (of both, really). As soon as Avatar knocked Star Wars off the top grossing sci-fi list I told a buddy "George is gonna do a 3D release of all the movies now. Count on it. He cant stand being second." If the movies werent so shitty, it might matter (see pretony's post). As it stands, it doesnt (as clearly shown by the $44m Phantom 3D made). Just stop, George. Stop

He's supposedly releasing ALL SIX films in 3D, so you can't really say that ALL of them are shitty.

Suckers....

One born every minute. Its a psychosis the people that incessantly buy every single re-release of these films and then go and see every re-release in the theater. Lucas's fat ass is laughing all the way to the bank as he exploits each and every person that contributes time and time again to these piles of shit he keeps serving up. The only set I would ever buy is the original trilogy as it was originally released.
