Avatar's Powersuit?

The Internet is drooling over any and every potential new tidbit of information from James Cameron's upcoming sc-fi epic AVATAR . Everyone is screaming teaser but unfortunately it looks as though we're going to have to sit down and shut up for a while because trust me when I say there ain't no AVATAR teaser coming anytime soon. In the meantime, we'll just have to make due with cryptic photos like the one below, which is reportedly of the 14-feet tall Powersuits that are worn by human troopers on the surface of alien planet Pandora. This is the badboy used to pulverize the alien race central to the film, the Na'vi. No shit.

HoyleHaw...

I liked where you went with that.
I think some people forget about the movie industry being business as usual and it's only natural they're going to chum the waters to get all of the fans in a hot lather. After all, regardless of whether or not any movie is good, one of the main points, for the most part. they are released to make a money (there are exceptions, of course, you have artists and you have michael bay).
Cameron's biggest film was certainly not his best and only time will tell in

Now granted I wasn't into JoBlo back then, but I remember way back in 2001 when LOTR came out. Granted, it was my most anticipated movie that year. But all the buzz was about Harry Potter. All the fantasy marketing seemed geared to build up anticipation for the first Harry Potter film. Until one week before Rings. And then lay-people the world over were suddenly made aware of what I had seen only the occasional article or poster about. And Peter Jackson became a household name

Over the next two years I'd grow tired of the interminable franchise and its fans. Not bad movies any, but after Fellowship pacing became a real issue for me.

My point being that some movies are just meant to be events. And frankly, I'm tired of seeing studios push every new superhero movie as the blockbuster to end all summer blockbusters.

James Cameron knows what he's doing. He seems to have some inkling for the last twenty-five years, whether it's what we had in mind or not. I still have issues with "Titanic" being the mega-hit it was. But I'm only one in a sea of billions. "Avatar" may not be "The Dark Knight" even, but it will be something, whether or not we get a teaser with "Transformers 2" or whatever.

errr

No teaser? Cry about it.

It will be ready when it's ready. You can't rush a masterpiece.

I want to know what the groundbreaking special effects are that are going to revolutionize film. Maybe he is going to make an action movie without cgi.

Alright, I'm wondering if this will do justice or even see release in December.

I actually know a guy who has been working with Cameron on this since day one, and thought he can't ever give me details on the film itself (stupid contracts!) He has been pretty pissed lately, since they're still no where near done shooting this and just a few days ago they scheduled 4 more months of shooting.

While I'm not drooling over this flick like some people (don't get me wrong, I wanna see it), but I thought Cameron would have done a nice fuck you to the new terminator flick by releasing the teaser with it....oh well, maybe transformers...

Geez

I gotta say wtf on there not being a teaser yet. Thought this movie was shot like well over a year ago, we don't even have any real stills except of James Cameron sitting next to things.
