Awesome Art We've Found Around The Net: 47 Ronin, Jaws, Sherlock, Pacific Rim

Dec. 21, 2013by: Theodore Bond

Some cliche somewhere said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. "Awesome Artwork We've Found Around The Net" is the outlet for that passion. In this column I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That's the aim, if you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

The Punisher one is amazing. Makes me wonder why we have not seen an awesome movie that this character deserves yet. Punisher War Zone was entertaining in a way, but still a cheese fest and I want to see a hard core, well acted, serious crime drama for the character. I also really liked The Joker pencil trick perspective shot a lot. I thought it was conceptually pretty cool.

Holy shit punisher. Could Stallone have been the perfect punisher? I never thought about it until now. The colors of Sherlock are well done also

Love the Jaws poster. I would hang that on my wall. The Punisher is amazing too.

I hate to be a douch

I really do hate sounding like a douche...but that Joker one is possibly the worse one that has ever been posted. Yikes. The Jaws one is excellent.

Yikes!

I see it's a rough week for poster art! Love this column though but I'm not seeing very many great pieces this week. Keep it up though!

For me Han Solo and Jaws are the best (the Punisher is also pretty cool, reminds me of a video game cut-scene). I wish I got the reference better for Kill Bullet Bill (I know it has something to do with the Mario games, but not much more than that). I think Sherlock is pretty weak actually. As in, if you didn't tell me it was Sherlock, I wouldn't have guessed it.

it's Princess Peach from the Mario Brothers games meant to look like Uma Thurman from Kill Bill. Pretty creative idea.

The Punisher, Sherlock, Jaws, Ronin 47, and Pacific Rim are all wonderful. I think out of the bunch though, The Punisher is easily my favorite.

Not the best week that I've seen but there are some interesting pieces in this mix. I found the Kessel Run to be hilariously creative. The Jaws piece reminded me of that game, Limbo, with its haunting atmosphere. The Punisher is by far the most detailed piece but something just seems a little off about it. It's always cool to see Samurai Jack pop up. God, I miss that show.

Jaws

But a good week. Lots of fun. Some are a little scruffy but good ideas.

I just started watching Sherlock, hope that dark bloody poster isn't a spoiler. That show is amazing so far. As for the rest they are all good this week but that 47 Ronin poster is pretty darn cool.

Love how that Punisher piece is a jacked-up blend of Thomas Jane and Dolph Lundgren. The Kessel Run piece was fun and the Jaws one was very atmospheric. The idea behind the Joker pencil trick piece is good, but not a fan of the execution.

Good couple of art work pieces....The Jaws was cool because it wasnt just another shark pic swimming up to the surface...Punisher was the best because it had the ultimate detail and look ....Kill Bullet Bill was only kind of cool because it was a Super Mario parody. Kessel Run was great and creative.
