Awesome Art We've Found Around The Net: Amelie, Godzilla, Predator, Sin City

May. 17, 2014by:

Some cliche somewhere said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. "Awesome Artwork We've Found Around The Net" is the outlet for that passion. In this column I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That's the aim, if you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

Wow. Horror Villains, who is in the top middle? And who's the guy in armor in the godzilla one. Besides that, the rock, sin city, and weird science are great, with the last two somehow kinda making me...

Galactus is not usually too smiley. However, I love the take on him in the Fantastic Four drawing. The Fantastic Four art captures the comic's spirit well. It has both fun and gravitas.
This week features many illustrations with a good sense of humor: Hitckcock, Weird Science, Horror Villains. Who does not appreciate such experimentation? It acknowledges the truth that amusement underlies any cinema regardless of genre.
I like all of this week's images.

Holy shit! That Weird Science pic is hot!

The Predator looks kinda.. light weight instead of imposing but still awesome.

The Rock is my favourite piece this week. It's an overused adjective, but the artwork makes the film look downright epic. Love the composition and the idea to have the smoke from the flares framed the "floating heads". Also like the throwback style of the Fantastic Four piece, with some Kirby Krackle in the background! And "headlights" in the Sin City piece...actually far classier than it has any right to be!
