Awesome Art We've Found Around The Net: Anchorman, The Hunger Games, King Kong, The Walking Dead

Dec. 28, 2013by: Theodore Bond

Some cliche somewhere said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. "Awesome Artwork We've Found Around The Net" is the outlet for that passion. In this column I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That's the aim, if you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

I'm no professional artist, so I shouldn't bitch but I'm human so I am going to. Whats artistic about taking a photo of anchorman and running some PhotoShop filters on it? And my god man all I can say about the Hunger Games one is "Man Hands"

I think this is a pretty good Awesome Artwork to round out 2013! I love that Gotham City Sirens pic; the Catwoman design actually works quite well! The texture and colours to that Alien piece do feel like they could have come straight off the cover of a 70s tie-in comic book. The painterly, almost slightly Disney-esque look to the Pan's Labyrinth piece is lyrical and beautiful too!

The Wild Bunch

Pan's Labyrinth is interesting too. The Anchorman one suffers because a guy who doesn't look quite like Steve Carell wielding a pitchfork in battle isn't inherently funny, taken out of context.
