Awesome Art We've Found Around The Net: Donnie Darko, Dracula, Pulp Fiction, Willy Wonka

Apr. 13, 2013by: Theodore Bond

Some cliche somewhere said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. "Awesome Artwork We've Found Around The Net" is the outlet for that passion. In this column I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That's the aim, if you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

I like the Imperial Recruitment poster as well as the James Bond one-sheet.
(In another time, I think that Bond picture - with Connery and Craig - would have happened).

Does Jaws seem a bit too phallic to anyone else?

I wish i had money to support these guys and buy some prints, I would love to have some of these in my home theater.

Also, i know the Agent vs. Agent thing has been done in Bond before, but that is an excellent Bond poster that i would love to see made a real movie. I know Connery is retired, but Roger Moore or Timothy Dalton could do it.

The Jaws image captures the entire movie beautifully. It could be the cover for the next DVD release if it did not give away so much of the movie.

The bond girl

She looks similar to Scarlett Johansson. Anyone else agree? Wonder if that was intentional by the artist, or if I'm just imagining it.

That turtle in the Mario piece looks so happy and peaceful. Little does he know that he's about to get stomped the fuck out and punted like a football. Or worse, burned to a barbeque crisp if that star has anything to say about it. Those poor animals in the mushroom kingdom. They were there first...

The art is great but the concept is flawed. The empire don't recruit do they? Aren't they clones?

I think they needed to supplement/replace the clones with civilians they recruit.

Beside, most people in the Empire MIGHT not know they are clones... The poster COULD be misinformation toward the masses...

Well, not everyone looks like Temuera Morrison, so maybe they do accept recruits.

I really didn't care for any of those. Not that they suck, but not memorable to me either like the last few "Art we found" posts have had. If anything, Nightmare on Elm Street is decent, but the rest either feel bland or too full.
Maybe it's just me. The Nightmare poster has just enough story with less filler clouding the big picture (looking at the Jaws one specifically) Oh well.

Sean Connery should make a cameo in the next bond. A small but respectable role and character.

I think Bumbray noted that the Kincaid character in Skyfall (Albert Finney) was probably written with Connery in mind.

It was indeed.
I think this is the reason the character do NOT die, like most Red Shirts... I mean Bond helpers !
