Some cliche somewhere said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. "Awesome Artwork We've Found Around The Net" is the outlet for that passion. In this column I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That's the aim, if you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

Avatar

I wish everyone would stop doing anything Avatar. James Cameron might get the idea that we want sequels.

Another dope week as always, that comic cover gets me. Weren't the rights to Halloween up for purchase, New Line here's an idea. Freddy vs Jason 2: plus Michael!

The Invincible Jason is my favorite, but I'm surprised how strong some of the ones I care nothing about (like He-Man--everything I wasn't as a child) are. Batwoman, Tony Soprano, and the dragon in Dragonball Z are other favorites. Pocahontas is cool, but I'm biased against any version of Pocahontas that's not portrayed as a pubescent girl in the 17th Century.

I really like The Invincible Jason by way of retro Marvel comics' cover. It's superb.

The Freddy vs. Jason art makes a smart parallel. It is true. Freddy is a bit like Wolverine. Jason is a bit like the Hulk.
The Terminator art has also an interesting subtext. The character is partially modern man, but he is also technology from the future. The time bubble, futuristic tech itself, represents his underlying futuristic identity.
This is some good art this week.
