Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Apr. 25, 2008

With such a summer of huge movies, some flicks get a bit lost in the shuffle -- aside from the rumors of hatcheted runtime, we haven't seen much on BABYLON A.D., Vin Diesel's return to sci-fi action.

The movie's getting a less-than-prestigious late-August release, which is when we normally see stuff like ANACONDAS: HUNT FOR THE BLOOD ORCHID. It's a big Euro-flavored futuristic traveling tale in the vein of CHILDREN OF MEN, about a mercenary with cool tatts hired to escort a woman from Russia to New York.

Here are a few pics, with a couple of new images in the bunch.

Extra Tidbit: The movie is based on the novel "Babylon Babies" by Maurice Georges Dantec.

Picture second from the bottom...
Is from xXx. I've always liked Vin Diesel as an actor. I hope that they do make a third Riddick movie if ths one does well, but I think David Twohy said he wouldn't. I just think there's a bit more story there.

well....
The director was in one of my favorite films of all time, Amelie, and this one does seem interesting. So I need to see a trailer do decide if ill see it or not.

I'm with Obergeist. I may be one of a handful of people I know who hasn't seen "Crimson Rivers" yet, and I missed "Gothika," although I don't know if that is a bad thing.

I'm also one of the very few people I know who thinks Vin Diesel is a good actor. Let me rephrase, a promising actor.

La Haine
From the trailer and the stills it looks pretty rubbish but I'll keep an eye on it. La Haine was too good to disregard Kassovitz just yet. Even if he did do Gothika.

I'm Hopeful
I have found that i have enjoyed any of the movies that Vin has the tatts inked on for. Could it be that his attitude and presence for a movie can be dictated by the type of look that he has. I still can't wait to see this on the big screen!!
