Back to the Future and Jurassic Park getting the video game treatment

What do you do when you want to remake a film, but you’ll be violently assaulted if you do? Make a video game instead!

While they both have already had video games come out in the past, someone is giving it a-go again with JURASSIC PARK and BACK TO THE FUTURE. Also for the record (as far as I know), there’s been no talk of remaking either movie. So you can sleep soundly. They’ve been trying to get another JURASSIC PARK off the ground, but it just hasn’t happened.

Onward with the games! The root of the scoop comes from the latest issue of Game Informer magazine. They say that neither of the games will be sequels. Both will be released episodically containing different worlds and situations.

Telltale Games have partnered with NBC Universal to work on new games for both JURASSIC PARK and BACK TO THE FUTURE. Some of you may have played Telltale titles, “Sam & Max” or “Wallace & Gromit Grand Adventures”.

There aren’t really any other details. CEO of Telltale Games, Dan Connors had this to say about the partnership, “Our partnership with Universal is an exciting next step in our continued growth as a mass-market games publisher and developer. We are all huge fans of both of these franchises. For Back to the Future and Jurassic Park we will leverage Telltale’s expertise in story-telling and game design to deliver on the unique elements of each series with our goal being to create compelling cinematic adventures paying homage to each franchise.”

The only JURASSIC PARK game I ever played involved plastic guns and shooting dinosaurs. I never got my hands on the BACK TO THE FUTURE game, anyone ever play that back in the day?

Hopefully if they involve any of the original cast from the movies maybe they could do the voices. Christopher Lloyd!!!
