Bana loves Beast

If that headline made you think that hunky Aussie Eric Bana might be getting involved in some unnatural acts with a certain blue-furred X-MEN character, well… that says a lot about you.

But nope, Bana isn’t doing X-rated X-MEN business, but he is making his directing debut on a documentary called LOVE THE BEAST. It’s not about auto erotica, either, although it does chronicle the actor’s longstanding adoration for a particular vehicle, a 1974 Ford Falcon Coupe (the same car he cracked up in an Australian rally not long ago — it’s okay now!).

Bana describes the project, which he’s been making for a couple of years (probably as he patiently waited for LUCKY YOU to finally be released), as an “unexpectedly emotional journey”. While he’s spinning his wheels and finishing up his labor of love, we’ll see him in THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE, JJ Abrams’ STAR TREK and Judd Apatow’s FUNNY PEOPLE.
