Bane’s Voice in The Dark Knight Rises: A Comparison

When we first heard Bane’s voice in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES IMAX prologue, many had a hard time hearing the villain’s voice behind his rather tight mask. The internet was set a blaze with fans who thought that Bane’s unintelligible voice would drag down the credibility of the movie. I mean, this was made out to be a crisis. Nolanities stood strong through the whole thing.

When Warner Bros. got wind of Bane Voice Crisis 2011, they made no apologies:

“Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them. He doesn’t dumb things down. You’ve got to pedal faster to keep up.”

At this point, no one knew what the final product would be. Would Nolan have subtitles for Bane’s dialogue? They should have known better. Would it be left as is? But when it came time to see the finished product, there were no dialogue issues. You could hear Hardy as Bane just as well as the other characters in the film. What happened? Sounds like some adjustments were made. A Daily Motion user posted a comparison of the prologue versus the actual scene in the film.
