Bank Job poster

01.14.2008
It’s obvious what kind of vibe the designer for THE BANK JOB poster was going for—a ‘young trenchcoated mutton-chopped Gene Hackman on a cold November day in Yonkers’ type of vibe. In others they were going for a 70s look. And the poster is a throwback for a reason: THE BANK JOB stars Jason Statham, who was born in 1972! Probably not a coincidence, right? Click on the pic to the right to head over to Cinematical and check it out in all its grainy glory and here’s a look at the official synopsis, which is based on a true story:

"In September 1971, thieves tunneled into the vault of a bank in London's Baker Street and looted safe deposit boxes of cash and jewelry worth millions and millions of pounds. None of it was recovered. Nobody was ever arrested. The robbery made headlines for a few days and then suddenly disappeared - the result of a UK Government 'D' Notice, gagging the press. This film reveals what was hidden in those boxes, involving murder, corruption and a sex scandal with links to the Royal Family - a story in which the thieves were the most innocent people involved."

THE BANK JOB drops March 7th.

Extra Tidbit: There was a gag order on the facts of this case and this movie is intended to reveal the truth behind what happened for the first time ever.
