Based on this clear shot of the Hulk, will you like him when he is angry?

Avengers Light Banner

Looks pretty great.  I don't really know what else to say.  I always enjoyed the more ragged, monstrous quality of Norton's Hulk, but it certainly looked less heroic than what Mark Ruffalo has got going on below.  Even just from the skin quality and build of his body you can tell that this is a different kind of character in a different kind of story, and that's just fine.  I'm not a "Hulk purist" by any means, so I can dig it.  What about you?

Ruffalo's Hulk from The Avengers

Hulk lets loose and smashes a whole bunch of stuff this May 4th.

Extra Tidbit: I don't think Marvel hasn't talked about it at all, but do you think Ruffalo will ever have a solo Hulk movie?

cool enough

I'm more interested to see how he's actually used in the film. Personally i liked Nortons Hulk. Never understood the hate for that one.

Yes, they did use mocap and it was the same studio that did the Norton Hulk, which I loved. I'm glad to see the direction they're going integrating Hulk in to the team. I hear the opening sequence is epic, and my guess is it has something to do with the team going after The Hulk and realizing he's not the monster he's made out to be. I've said it before, but if you haven't caught the Avengers cartoon I suggest you do so, it's awesome!

The problem with the solo hulk movies, is that Bruce Banner is boring as shit. They need give him something to do besides look for a cure. Which is what the TV show did.

Always liked the Hulk

I am a big Hulk fan and hope he gets a stand alone movie. I really enjoyed the TV series and all the movies (yes, yes, I know, people don't like Ang Lee's Hulk but I thought it was fun). I am very excited to see what Mark Ruffalo brings to the character (both as the MoCap Hulk and Banner).

To be honest, I've liked all the incarnations of the Hulk in terns of their appearance, even the Shreky one.
This looks pretty darn good though.
I do wish however, that someone would let Lou Farigno do the motion capture.

Stoked

I've enjoyed both of the Hulk movies. Bana had more nerdy vulnerability that Norton, but Norton's Hulk was superior in the looks department. Ruffalo seems to have his own take on playing Banner, and I can't wait to the character unfold.

I enjoyed both Hulk movies for different reasons, but they need to do a Hulk movie where he gets to kick some serious ass, kinda like in the World War Hulk storyline.

WWH after the atrocity of Green Lantern I don't think there will ever be another comic book space movie. Butt WWH was a great read. I think they should do a Hulk vs Wolverine movie. Nice and short, full of action.

Looks Like Ruffalo

He looks more like the actor playing him more than either of the other two(Bana/Norton). I liked both of the first two movies but for different reasons. I'm looking forward to this one. Still I think he looks like Ruffalo if he roided up and painted himself green...

I like it. I had heard that unlike previous incarnations of the Hulk that were completely computer simulated they actually used mocap of Ruffalo. Does anyone know if this is true?

All 3 are mocapped, as far as I know. Ang Lee's was mocapped, I know that for certain.

Ruffalo is the first actor to play Banner AND Hulk through mo-cap. They have all been mo-cap but never by the actor, until now.

I've met one of the animators of Norton's Hulk, seen the model and seen the animation and am an animator myself. It was not mo-cap. they wanted to but just couldn't get it to work the way they wanted. It was computer animated. And I'm guessing Ang Lee's was as well

If the hulk wasn't mo-cap, how come they mo-capped Abomination just fine with Tim Roth (which I know they did).

It's simple, look at the documentaries on the DVD. On Hulk, you see Ang Lee with the mo-cap stuff on him, so there's nothing to argue about here. I don't know about Incredible Hulk though, and I don't care, whether it was mo-cap or not.

It's so hard to tell from still images. The Hulk is probably one of the most difficult comic characters to get right on film. The closest depiction I've seen so far was actually not in any of the Hulk movies, but rather it was the Mr. Hyde character in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in 2003.

He looks like he's running this way so that he won't be late for a spot of tea, haha. Reminds me of the posh Frankenstein's Monster in Freakazoid: "Mmm, *I* read the New Yorker. Hm"

How will the ABC TV show about the Hulk play in to all of this?!? I'd love to see another solo Hulk film but there's so much on Marvel's plate right now.

Liking this design a lot. I hope they do a better job of projecting the Hulk's power on this one than they did the others. Not to dork it up too much, but in the comics he is power and rage personified and his strength is basically incomparable. No real scale on which it could be measured. In the other films, it seemed to require strain and effort for him to... throw a tank for example. This shouldn't be any problem for the Hulk. He was too bulky in Ang Lee's version. Too cartoonish. He is

He is traditionally more agile. His power doesn't come from bulk.

This design looks great, and based on the "...We have a Hulk" line I have every reason to believe they will nail the character. Can't wait.

Looks great

I can't wait to see him in action. I would love to see a Ruffalo hulk movie. But it would have to be more than one monster fighting another. Maybe bring in a group of people like the U-FOES...

The look and feel of the Hulk always changes in comics, currently he and banner are two seperate beings.
