Basterds clips!

Quentin Tarantino is currently hitting Cannes with his highly anticipated WWII tale INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, but unless you happen to be hanging out in that town at the moment, you'll have to wait until August to see the movie.

Fortunately we have a few brief glimpses: SS Col. Hans "The Jew Hunter" Landa (Christoph Waltz) grills a Frenchman, wounded actress Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) grits her teeth and offers new details on the big plan, and scalp-collecting soldier Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) explains the situation to a German captive. Maybe that'll hold you over for a few months...

Extra Tidbit: Wouldn't it be sweet if Tarantino was this fast getting all his movies through production?

i sort of agree

in principle, but the dialogue has to be clever, like 'pulp fiction' and not just pointless and boring, like 'death proof.' i read the script too, and the dialogue is a lot closer to the latter film.

Dueling Dialogue

I read the script, and really liked it, it's very, very talky, and there's less of the Basterd's in the movie than you think. We follow many adventures of many characters, which is to expect if you know QT. The heart of the film is the Jewish Cinema girl "Shoshanna", she's the "main" character as I see it. I liked it. But I like "talky" movies with long bouts of dueling dialogue.

That was awesome! If i can see only one more movie this year, this is it! I love all the dead bodys laying around in the background that were scalped in the last clip.

"BUSINESS IS A BOOMIN'!"

beaoutiful basterds!

Shit this looks great, i love the way they captured the scenery and the ww2 setting...beautifully shot. Great acting from the europeans, best i've seen from Kruger...and she's gorgeous, more than before. Perhaps because she looks a bit dangerous here. Pitt looks a bit over the top, but like he's having a blast.I believe this one might be an instant classic film. And i can't wait to see which setting Tarantino is going to use for Bowie's Cat People song.

Well, let's hope he didn't rush himself. I remember when everyone thought Spielberg rushed through Munich, but man, was everyone wrong for doubting him.

I'm really hoping Inglourious Basterds doesn't disappoint, seeing as how it, G.I. Joe, and Gamer are the last 3 films left going back into school.

I keep going back and forth between this movie. I've loved every other Tarantino movie in the past and I know he's still got some bloody, vulgar, damn-good-filmmaking motor kicking inside him, but I keep getting this feeling in my gut that I just might not enjoy this one as much as I want to. But the clips seem decent enough, the dialogue seems interesting enough, and I'm starting to get this flicker of a feeling that I just might like this a hell of a lot more than my gut is letting on.
