Bat vs. Supes teaser?

While we never did get to see the planned BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN movie that Wolfgang Petersen was supposed to direct back in 2004, we might get another chance at seeing it in 2010? Of course, none of us will be alive to see it... At least that's what happens in the futuristic world of I AM LEGEND. Early in the film, as Will Smith's Robert Neville is hunting the deer in Times Square, the camera pans up to a giant billboard advertising a BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN film that would have opened up on May 15, 2010. Now this is probably nothing more than a neat little easter egg meant to tickle the fancy of fanboys across the world, but what if it were a little more? What if it were a hint that a BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN movie may not be completely dead? I mean, they are going ahead with JUSTICE LEAGUE, a movie no one seems all that juiced about. Why not drop that movie and get Christopher Nolan to film Christian Bale and Brandon Routh in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN. Yeah, I know... it'll never happen. But at least in the alternate universe that is I AM LEGEND, it happened. I wonder who they cast?... Thanks to all the JoBlo readers who sent in word of this cool little bonus!

Extra Tidbit: Colin Farrell and Jude Law were reportedly the top choices for Petersen's BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN.

Let's settle this

Akiva Goldsman was a writer on a draft of Batman vs Superman. Obviously that movie never happened but as an inside joke a faux poster was included in I Am Legend as a nod to that famously doomed project. There is no Supers vs Bats flick in the works. Very easy to find the Goldsman insight into this little inside joke if you look around a bit. With that damn JLA monstrosity coming out we'll most likely never see a proper BvsS flick (paticularly with the rumored fight within the JLA film taking

there's also a poster for the Green Lantern movie at the video store Neville frequents, and that one's a sure thing, so perhaps the BvS teaser isn't entirely fictional...

I saw that and smiled. I almost yelled out " I know what caused the end of the world. That film!"

Gees!

Casting Colin Farrell and Jude Law as Batman and Superman would be the same as casting Dustin Diamond and Steven Seagal for those parts. That is just crazy!

The right actors are playing them at the moment. Why not just use them instead of some B rate hacks!

BAT Vs. SUPE

Batman should remain Christian Bale he's a natural as the caped crusader a performance I thought only Micheal Keaton could claim. And as Superman I would like Jake Gyllenhaal since I believe we were all cheated by him not being picked as Spiderman. I'm still curious to see Donnie Darko dawn a red cape for the citizens of Metropolis.
