Batman has milk

May. 29, 2008by: Ben Barna
Iím not sure why Warner Bros. feel they need to tamper with Batmanís mystique by having him pose with a milk mustache for those antique Got Milk? ads, but they do and they did. We all know Batman doesnít even drink milk. Bruce Wayne does, sure, but Batman drinks the blood of those who sin. Heís a bat man, remember? Milk mustache or not, this is a brand new picture of Christian Bale in the TDK batsuit, and thatís news to me.

Extra Tidbit: Is this going to make you drink milk?

Robocop reloaded

Mut, your post ("Stay in school!") made me remember that Robocop sequel where he is programmed to be a good guy and keeps repeating good messages to the kids. Coincidence or not, the suit seems more umconfortable than the Robocop one, if that's possible.

Fucking fanboys....

If I remember correctly, CB did a "Got Milk" ad coinciding with Batman Begins as well. Anyways, you fucktards need to lighten up. It's just a goddam ad, and it's not gonna do shit to the movie. And, the suit looks fine. Chris Nolan has always been going for the realistic and practical route, and this suits looks a lot more functional and useful than Joel Schumacher's nippled wonders. I swear, nothing will ever please you fanboys. Even if Christian Bale personally came over to give you all a

Fanbois are Funny

Adaptation. Say it with me. A-DAP-TAY-SHUN.

To change, to modify.

Hence, the Batman on the screen is not the same as the one you read and saw on the page.

zOMG!!

You want the comic book suit? Go read the comic book.

You want a film? Expect changes since, hey, OMGWTF, films and books are NOT the same texts! And films on superheroes are not made for the same audiences as comic books.

I know; it's hard to take. But, 'tis truth.

And milk is good for you. Pass it

wow

look at all these tools bitching and complaing about a got milk ad. Really? "His armor isn't the way it's supposed to be in page 73 of the dark knight chronicles where he has a 3/4 inch space between his right glove and his sleeve, this is preposterous!!"

You guys can find any little thing to bitch and moan and complain about... just let nolan do his thing, I'm sure the suit will be better in the third movie. It's still pretty much Batman Begins for Bruce Wayne, give him some

You're all gonna go see it, like you've been waiting months upon months to see, and youre gonna critique the shit out of it and talk about the scene where Bruce Wayne eats chicken at a restaurant and how it contradicts the comic books. Lighten up a lil bit, you'll enjoy things more.

"Hey, kids, Batman here! Fighting crime can be a tough job, so I always pack a thermos of milk! 2% works well for fighting minions, but if I'm going up against the big dogs, it's whole milk for sure! And, if I'm fighting Catwoman, I can also throw it as a distraction. Stay in school!"

Ridiculous

This picture is downright insulting. Chris Nolan must be gnashing his teeth over this complete absurdity.

What's next...a pink tutu?

What could have made this ad truly great is if the Batsuit had nipples...

C'mon, make the connection. You know you want to.

EVERYONE AND THE FUCKIN SUIT

LISTEN UP

The suit is a prototype...it continues to get better as the films go on. Just relax and wait till the 3rd part where I guarantee they have the batmobile that looks a batmobile and a suit that looks like a suit

That looks as bad as the upcoming movie. Just because Bale sulks in every movie does not make him a good actor. He is becoming a one note actor.

The idea of having Batman in these ads is fine. The only thing that's a mistake is that god-awful batsuit. How Nolan can get everything else so right, and the suit so wrong (twice now) is baffling.

I'm not so sure how to respond to this, mainly because I agree with everyone who said that Warner just fu*ked up Bat's darkness via this poster...but I also feel it's not that big of a deal because it's just a side thing and doesn't link directly to the film. Still, I think Warner should have protected the film's darkness more and not have posters like this happen...or at least delay the poster until most people have already seen the flick (which wouldn't help the Milk campaign as much but

TheHardTruth, who cares? Seriously. This is a poster for a milk campaign. It is not part of the movie, and it is not the movie. Its just a poster, not even a movie poster. I really wouldnt care if they had Batman advertising pink tutus as long as it wasnt featured in the actual movie.

Well, yeah The Bodyguard has a point. I'm not having nerd spasms over this poster, but it just seems out of place. I mean, if you used the Adam West Batman, it kinda suits the 'Get kids to drink' theme. This is the dark version (suit and all) and yet he's reminding us to drink milk. Nothing wrong, but out of place. It's like after Bats screamed at Flass in 'Begins' he also reminded Flass to drink his milk. Amusing though. LOL

I know comics are not all campy and fun. However, Marvel and DC do tend to target younger crowds. Kids love Superheroes and Batman is a major icon for them. Got Milk ads are meant to get kids to drink milk. Batman is an icon to many kids. People are making a big deal because they want their Batman to be only for them. The movie is dark in tone, but it won't stop them from making toys about it or anything else. Comic Books have always been meant for children at least in DC and Marvel. Of

Of course, I wouldn't let a kid read Spawn, but I am fine with him reading an X-Men or Batman comic.

c'mon guys

I'll say it again "C'mon, guys". This shows how awesome Bale is. I don't care if WB is going this route cause I bet they would have scrapped this idea if Bats said no.

BTW, if you think Batman is for kids or even that "comics are for a younger crowd", go to a local comic shop and tally up the content (i'm not talking that silly ass parental labeling) and you'll see not all of it is campy and fun.

Wow...that really is lame.

Seriously, did the nitwits at WB who still think JLA's a good idea come up with one?

What a way to de-mystify the Batman, guys. Sheesh.

And, considering what ol' Harvey Dent's going to go through in this movie, any marketing aimed at the kiddies is a horrendous idea.
