Batman on Batpod

Jun. 19, 2007by: Ben Barna
I know earlier today we showed you a photo of what appeared to be Batman's new Batpod aka motorcycle, so you can blame me for being a little repetitive here, but what kind of movie site would this be if we didn't actually show you the first photo of Batman on the actual bike. Check it out BELOW. Looks like he's doing the whole leaning forward thing again, like he did when driving the Batmobile in BEGINS. I wonder if this Batpod will figure into the storyline or if the filmmakers are just trying to mix it up a little. We'll see.

LOUISFILM Ltd I really don't think a bike would make more sense to Batman from a "crime fighting" perspective.

How does he protect himself from bullets? or cars, truck or whatever trying to crash him? You must know that there will be people in the movie trying to get ride of Batman.
A few people have mentioned: driving a bike with a long cape?
How does he protect the bike itself when he leaves it somewhere?

It's like...

the shooting pod on the clone army's ship as seen in Attack of The Clones. Well, without the whole glass encasing of course. And with truck tires. And why do I keep thinking 'Spy Hunter'?

LOL!!!

The Batpod looks like a bunch pieces of the Tumbler put together. Maybe after Joker blows up the Bat-mobile, Batman says "dame I lost my ride, oh I know! I'll build a bike on whats left of the Tumbler". LOL!!! :D

Is this Batman Beyond?!?!?

I don't like this big futuristic hillbilly ATV and I don't like his new Power Ranger suit. This movie better have a damn good script.

This makes sense

I always thought a bike made more sense as a vehicle for batman than the tank-like tumbler. dont get me wrong, i love the tumbler, but the tumbler always seemed like it wouldnt be good for stealthy situaltions (its HUGE and its LOUD). Parking the tumbler (without averting attention) would also seem to be a hassle in the city. But a bike is smaller, faster and maybe less noisy. Plus it just looks awesome!

Every time . . .

I see that photograph, I think of Edna Mode's comment from The Incredibles: "No capes! :)

skeptical

I have faith in Nolan because he's the man, but is a motorcycle really that necessary? I'm interested in how Batman gets it, because I can't see Wayne saying "I think I need a motorcycle to stop crime.." I was kind of iffy about the Tumbler too, but it's ruggid look always gave the real-world impression. This one looks to sleak and fancy especially with Batmans new suit. Are we treading into familiar waters here....I mean, not to the extent of Batman and Robin, but these stylistic additions are

This'll be cool in the context of the movie, I'm sure. You have it right, Smiert. Nobody liked the Tumbler at first, either. Except me. I was the only one.

Not Bad...

C'mon, ya'll...most people didn't like The Tumbler when they first saw it. Relax and wait 'til you see it in action....

I think driving that with a cape would be very dangerous.
That's all I have to say about that.
Oh.. and those things at the front probably shoot grappling hooks, cuz I'm pretty sure they'll stick with the whole aversion to guns thing.

Hmmm...

I'm not so sure about it. Kinda looks like Batman on Mario-Kart.

Maybe it's a detachable extension of the Tumbler, which would explain why Batsy's still in the leaning forward position.
