Bats villain rumors

08.04.2008

There have been a plethora of casting rumors pertaining to the villains for the next (assumed) Batman movie over the last couple of days. And we've tried to steer clear of them, but figure it might lead to some fun or interesting discussion on who we'd like to see tackle Batsy next.

What has been bandied around are the following (and remember, unsubstantiated rumor in absolute!):

1. Johnny Depp as The Riddler
2. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin
3. Angelina Jolie as Catwoman

Personally, I don't really like any of these suggestions, but on the up side I doubt that any of them are really even anywhere close to being true. If you ask me, a cool villain for the next flick would be Clayface. It would be a completely different challenge and would give the movie a completely different dynamic to the last two. Failing that, I guess introducing Catwoman wouldn't be the worst thing, but not Angelina Jolie. Right?
Extra Tidbit: Sound off!

Enter Bain or "Croc."

Bain could be a ex mercenary or athlete who used waaaay to much juice. Now with his Endocrine system out of whack he must have a constant supply of it 24/7. Of coarse it would be some exotic steroid(fictional yet believable)which seems to pump him up instantly and has a pain killer/numbing agent in it..so he feels no pain.

"Croc" could be some self mutilating crazy guy...who loves crocodiles/ alligators. He makes it his life's work to be one. Finding underground/black market surgeons to change him. Inserting crocodile like scales under his skin..made of some material that is bullet resistant etc. Removing his teeth and putting steel sharp teeth in his mouth. Insertion of claws grafted to his finger bones...maybe a "shine job" like in pitch black or riddick so he can see better in the dark and under water.

And maybe...I think it would be cool..a cybernetic tail fused with his body.

yeah that might be a little over the top lol

just my 2 cents!

Johny Depp would make a good Riddler....what about the guy who was obsessed with time?

Batman is on the run from the police and vigilantes are after him too. Catwoman begins as one of those vigilantes played by Kiera Knightley (Hot as hell and has played some bad ass roles before). After the Jokers capture the mob decides they need someone who has strength and a straight up killer BANE played by Mickey Rourke or Black Mask played by Clive Owen.

Fourth movie bring on Harley Quinn, the jokers psychiatrist and at the end of that movie she breaks out the Joker.

edit: Seems no

edit: Seems no one loves Knieghtly like me so how about one of these three. Kate Beckingsale (Underworld) Jessica Biel (can't act like the others) or Milla Jovinch (Resident Evil 1 but she needs to be more playful).

Biel however has the body for Harley Quinn in the 4th I could see her in that role definately! Nolan could make her act.

I have a lot of time at work to think and the monday after the weekend I saw TDK twice I thought up an entire movie for the third and partial 4th. Too bad I live in bumbf*ck 2,000 miles away from anywhere.

CATWOMAN

As long as this is a Nolan production, I don't think we'll see Catwoman or Penguin. I can't see them fitting into Nolan's Batman world. The Riddler would work and his story being an obsessive compulsive villian is interesting. Catwoman is a lot harder to believe.
And as for casting, no-one has any idea who they'll cast. Nobody saw Ledger in the Joker role did they?

I'll have a go anyway: Paul Bettany for Riddler.

Doesn't matter

They did well thus far, and i'm sure the next batman will be a blast! much use to think Heath Ledger was a bad choice as joker, but he did a brilliant job.

Angelina Jolie as Catwoman? hmm sounds nice, a close representation of her as Catwoman, Beowulf, now who doesn't want that, mmm mmm i wonder if it's possible now unless it's actually Angelina from Beowulf :P~

1. Johnny Depp as The Riddler
2. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin
3. Angelina Jolie as Catwoman

I don't mind, it will

I don't mind, it will be a great movie as before and it might unleashed more potential of these actors, just like it did with Heath Ledger, i'm curious to see how Depp's take on the riddler.

Penguin

This is going off-topic a bit.. from the little discussion below this, but I would just like to point out that I'm not sure if the Penguin would ever show up in the batman movies. Why? Because from the two movies that I've seen, they've been keeping it as close to real as possible... and the Penguin is pushing it a bit. He's more of a fantasy character than someone that could actually exist.

I also agree...

TP4ever's prediction gave me goosebumps, that would be awesome. I love Kneightly but don't like her as catwoman. How bout Scarlet Johansen, Nolan worked with her before why not through here in discussion. I guess i didn't wanna read through 90 comments, so someone might have already brought her up.

Never noticed that, tylerj... But I mean, don't forget the weedy redhead dude who tried to blackmail Bruce, "Mr. Reese" (or 'Mysteries')

I dare say Nolan and co. threw stuff like that in there just to get people speculating, but I doubt it'll count for much in the third movie.

tp4ever84 is a genius...

Okay, while I think Keira Knightly would make a smoking hot catwoman, I think there is too big of an age difference between her and Bale. Rourke would make a decent Bane, and I think he could probably pull off the South American thing if he really wanted to... But Clive Owen as Black Mask... That is a work of casting genius. I would f**king line up for days to see that movie!

Interesting

Yes the idea of Johnny Depp playing ANYONE in the next Batman flick is beyond cool, but probably won't happen. The idea of Jolie as Catwoman, make me very excited in the groin region. Oh, oh, yes.

Hope two-face is dead, really don't won't see him back, unless it's just a scarecrow style cameo.

I'm hoping Nolan's goes for Bane! I'm pretty sure Nolan's going to direct at least one other flick before churning out a third Batman.

I thought Two-Face was going to be the next villain? Wasn't The Dark Knight his origin story? Anyway, Clayface would be cool. I don't know anything about the comics, but I remember his two-parter from the 90s Batman animated series being really good.

SCARFACE!

I dont want to see anyone previously done again. We had 2-face and joker at once and they blew the past 2 iterpretations away! And i most definetly dont want to see the franchise go towards robin or freaks of nature villians. Lets keep it Almnost real world. Batmans on the run. Lets focus on that and use his detective skills more! On the side we have Scarface with his Ventriloquist Wesker who i can see Paul Giamatti playing! If u need another villian throw in the cat i guess. Love interest

Herbert West = Victor Fries? Think about it.

Black Mask would be badass, new kind of gangster for Gotham City.
Clayface would be epic, definitely one I've dreamed about for as long as I can remember. Batman vs. Clayface? Super Sweet.

Perhaps another shot at Bane, or even Killer Croc. Someone that would beat the crap out of Batman without breaking a sweat.

Nolan could make The Ventriloquist work fo' sho, but I doubt that'd be the villain he'd want to follow the Joker with.

Perhaps Jeffrey Combs as Mr. Freeze? It'd never

i remember before batman and robin there where talks of demi moore as poison ivy and robin williams as mad hatter....would have been interesting.

I'd like to see mr.freeze as well, he's interesting and a little different from the other psychos and mobsters.

no to the penguin....boring, especially with two-face.

Riddler would be fine but please keep SOME element of the costume at least....not just a guy in a suit.

damm

I'm down with this news. But jeez people, get over this "trilogy" crap. As soon as a movie hits 3 films everyone wants to label it a trilogy when that isn't what a trilogy is. A trilogy is a story broken up into 3 parts, telling the TOTAL of the story. And who the fukk said that Batman was gonna be a trilogy? And JLDFilms you sound like an idiot right now. Very little of the new Batman stays true to the comic or cartoon, so Robin and 2-face not fighting isn't that bad of a deal.

1. Depp is too much of a big name. I think Rainn Wilson (from the office) could bring a demented yet comidic side to the riddler, but not have him look so much like himself. No wierder than when first hearing ledger would be the joker.

3. Penguin I don't see working in Nolan's world at all, no matter who is cast.

I read they wanted to do a villian who hasn't been seen on film yet, which rules out a lot. Too bad, I think Mr. freeze has an emotional story that would work well, but he's a bit unrealistic. I would like christopher lloyd, but he's a bit old so maybe david hyde pierce.

I would like to see firefly, you don't need the suit but just use the concept of a pyromaniac.

Having Catwoman in the triology wud be superb. But i doubt Jolie would match up to Bales performance or height. And yeah two face fights Robin also in the cartoons and comics so how can he be dead when Robin hasnt appears ????

Catwoman is never a bad idea. She is a threat to Batman but a love for Bruce. It adds so much depth and complexity to him and also her. Dont let Hally Berrys horrible interpretation ruin the character. And Clayface as a master of disguise? That RUINS the character. Clayface is awesome, just not for this universe. Save him for the cartoons. Dont change him so drastically just to work. He should be able to work without having to be changed so much. Riddler, Deadshot, Catwoman, Bane, Mad Hatter,

Riddler, Deadshot, Catwoman, Bane, Mad Hatter, Mr Freeze, HUSH (would be sick as shit!!) These would all work. And whoever said Batman killed two face what movie did you watch? He didnt do it on purpose. It was an accident. Two face basically killed himself. Hes NOT dead though.

Joker

This makes sense to me the joker should be played by a comedic actor and I believe that if Pineapple Express is successful that James Franco would make the perfect riddler even though he was in spiderman maybe he should make the jump to a good comic book series.
Let me know if you agree

Villans

The only viable choices I can come up with are one that they hinted at in Batman Begins.
The first is Mr. Zasaz.
His Info.
[link]

In B.B. he is the first criminal that we see being prosecuted by Rachel. We see him again in the end of the film for only a second.

The second is most likely wishful thinking on my part but i am going to say Talia Al Ghul.
Info:

Why her?
1. No Rachel so we need a love interest.
2. She is a worthy advisory for Batman.
3. In every Trilogy

I'm pulling for Scarface... it'll fit well into Nolan's depiction of the criminal underworld in Gotham. As the mob leaders are forced into the sunlight to avoid Batman, why not have a villain that can be conviently stored in a case to avoid detection. Then you get Al Pacino to do the voice of Scarface.

I heard the rumor that Nolan wants to feature a villain that we haven't seen on screen yet.

That rules out:

Joker
Penguin
Catwoman
Ivy
Mr Freeze
Riddler
Two Face
Bane
Scarecrow
Ra's Al Ghoul

Everyone says Clayface isn't realistic enough, and wouldn't fit into Nolan's movie world, but the original Clayface was a guy who disguised himself as people and didn't have any special powers (but to not have a morphing, shape-shifting Clayface in a movie would seem like kind of a wasted

Love Johnny Depp, but please don't cast him as the Riddler, or in these Bat-films at all.

Villains I'm holding out for:

Black Mask
Mr. Freeze (done properly)
Deadshot
Hush
Clayface
Ventriloquist & Scarface

Roman Sionis a.k.a The Black Mask

Here's why..
1- He and his family are faux pals from way back with the Wayne family. Thus establishing good personal back story for Bruce Wayne.

2- Roman Sionis has a certain disdain for Bruce Wayne due to the hypocrisy of his parents. He hates the metaphorical "masks" people where in public and in social gatherings, which is a nice tie to Bruce the man, not the superhero.

3- He has a cool crime syndicate called "The False Face Society" and all the members have to wear a different mask

4- He's an extremely wealthy guy too, thru a cosmetics company.

5- There's a nice duality to be played upon. Roman Sionis is disfigured physically so he wears his mask, Bruce Wayne is disfigured emotionally, so he wears his mask.

6- He can play well on screen and not be too gimmicky. Perfect for the raw and gritty direction these movies are heading.

7- Has mob ties, and a plethora of criminal bosses that could make good second in command guys, like "Tattoo" and even Bane along with the current batch of mobsters populating Gotham.

Hollywood is missing out

Hollywood should seriously consider doing movies of the stories that made these comic book charachters famous in the first place. Why dont we see The Dark Knight Returns? Or Miller's Daredevil storyline? These are the sagas that defined the charachters. The cream of the crop. At least we get to see Watchmen in all it's glory.

Nolan's Hush

Hush would be an awesome choice he is a new enough character with a great story line but Nolan can have his own awesome take on the character and make him new and interesting esp cause everyone is freaking out about the next villain he is unknown enough it would almost be like Nolan creating his own character. Ben Foster as Riddler Nuff Said.

Any Batman fans here

dont know if its been posted, to many to read(and im at work)but weve beaten down the path of penguin and ridler, the joker from the new film took us on a wild and different direction, and that re-interpretation was great. Catwoman i would dig, not as a central villan, but more like harvery dent was in the new movie. As Big Boss status for a villan, who hasnt been portrayed yet? Who can be a strong villan? I say Hush!

Casting....

Nolan hasn't used huge named actors for the films, so I think that would nix Depp and hopefully Jolie. Hoffman for Penguin could work well though. And Wasn't there a rumor of Bob Hoskins as Penguin when Dark Knight was being filmed? What about...Adrien Brody for Riddler? Or Paul Bettany? Though Riddler runs close to Joker, so it'd be interesting to start new territory, which would be good to do Catwoman or Talia Al Ghul...Liv Tyler? Not the best idea, but could work...

Ventriloquist or Mad Hatter

Ventriloquist and Scarface. That would be pretty sick right there. I'm all for clayface but the ventriloquist is such a psychologically messed up character and nolan can do psycho pretty good. i can imagine Paul Giamatti in this role for some reason.

Whole lots of Ideas

I know that I read along time ago, back when The Dark Knight was still being written, that there was an outline for the third movie. It was supposed to revolve around the Jokers trial and rise of Two-Face. Now, since the untimely death of Ledger and the impact of his performance, I think it would be wrong to recast the role... at least right now. But I think if they did it right, they could fast forward past the trial and introduce the the Harley Quinn character, as the psychologist assigned to

It was supposed to revolve around the Jokers trial and rise of Two-Face. Now, since the untimely death of Ledger and the impact of his performance, I think it would be wrong to recast the role... at least right now. But I think if they did it right, they could fast forward past the trial and introduce the the Harley Quinn character, as the psychologist assigned to the Joker after he has been sentenced and committed to Arkham Asylum. We could see that she has become seduced by his magnetism and obsessed with him. We see her mind start to go and she vows revenge. Rachel McAdams could pull this roll off perfectly. They could even do it in such away that we never have to see the Joker, he's just suggested with clever camera work and could be in solitary confinement. Now as far as Two-Face goes, (SPOILER ALERT, if it's really needed...) I don't think he's dead. We never saw the funeral, just a suggested memorial. Just a theory though. Now if they were to introduce the Riddler, they could totally do it in the form of a mobster, with a sick and twisted sense of humor, who, well uses riddles. He is working his way up the mob food chain in Gotham by taking out mob bosses one by one. And as much as I love Johnny Depp, and I could see him doing the character justice... Someone mentioned Daniel Day Lewis playing the part. That would be phenomenal casting, all be it a tad bit of fantasy casting. I don't think he would do it. But who knows. It could be interesting to see Phillip Seymore Hoffman as The Penguin, but I'm not exactly sure what they could do with the character in the Nolan universe. Catwoman. This could be clever. She is both a villian and vigilante, which could be an interesting plot point for Batman and if done right, could work brilliantly. I love me some Angelina Jolie, and to see her in skintight leather and cat ears is a vision, If it wasn't Jolie, I think that Famke Janssen could do this really well, she has acting chops and fits the part. Plus adding Catwoman, would work well with bringing in Harley Quinn... can we say rivals? On a side note, there should be no Robin in the Nolan universe, he doesn't work. Now this is just my opinion, I could be wrong....

Ickly bad

Boo boo boo.
Id strongly prefer to see someone a little more off the beaten path. Phillip Seymore Hoffman is the only one in this list I would think would ADD to the storyline, without his celebrity taking over bringing things to a different level. Jolie and Depp are just too damn tabloid to be interesting to me anymore. I think the Harley Quinn angle could be cool, as well as Bane.

Personally I want to see Black Mask and Deadshot together. Then again, the Riddler and Penguin would also be awesome.

As for Catwoman, Rachel Weisz is the only option for me. She's got that sexy look and even the way she talks (watch The Shape of Things) is seductive. Compare:

Some more Rachel for the hell of it:

Riddler seems like a second-rate Joker... doubt we'll see him anytime soon. Catwoman is surely making an appearance next turn around - Jolie would be pretty epic, I think. What's with all the recent contempt for Depp anyway???

Clayface would rock but how do you put him in the same realist realm as Nolan's Two Face and Joker. It could be done, I'm sure. Catwoman is still a bad idea.

The Riddler's Viral Marketing

How much fun would that be? They need to cast someone like Depp if they hope to keep some of the major box office points. I found a fun way to keep Dark Knights Box Office going while I have already seen it 2 times when I go see another movie ill buy a ticket for TDK and just walk into the other new movie I wanna see. Kinda a dick move to the other movies but fuck Titanic.

Yeah I wasn't into these ideas either. I love Johnny Depp as much as the next person but the riddler just doesn't seem like the character for him. It's almost like, "Let's just throw every popular great actor into the ring and see what sticks."

It's too early to tell on who will be who, the speculation is fun until we get some real info.

oh, and to the person above me, why does it matter about the box office? It's about what's good for the part and staying true to Batman for the fans.

Clayface a possibility

I don't think having Clayface in the next one would be such a stretch. After all, Nolan and crew have a knack for making great Batman villains more realistic. Though Ra's Al Ghul is immortal in the comics thanks to his mystical Lazarus Pits, in the movie they treated this merely as part of his legend, and it helped contribute to his overall mystique without making him science-fictiony. The Scarecrow was done well and subtly, too, I think. For Nolan's Joker... what can you say about him?

Clayface could simply be reinterpreted as a master of disguise who could appear as anyone at anytime. This preserves the "meat" of the character without making him an unrealistic monster. He could be a boss or an enforcer, a solo "heavy" or a supporting character. There are all kinds of ways he could be used well. Just my two cents... keep the change.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been rumored since the end of Batman Begins so has the whole Catwoman rumor. Johnny Depp is always being rumored for almost every comicbook movie thats being released.

And having Clayface would be the dumbest idea to ever hit any Batman film. Keep the villains like that away from Nolan's films.

The Phillip Seymour Hoffman rumor has been floating around for a while, and I personally think he would do an outstanding job. Obviously not as incredible as Heath Ledger as the Joker, but I really hope if they do a third Batman installment and decide to use the Penguin, they pick him and he accepts.

Angelina Jolie can go to hell.

Britany Murphy would never work as Harley Quinn. She would never pass as a psychologist. I remember Emily Blunt's name being thrown around during the casting of Dark Knight and think she would definitely work.

Nolan said he would never recast Joker anyway (he only intended Joker to have a short cameo in the third film), so Joker is totally out (unless Nolan leaves the franchise).

I think it is important to believe Two-Face is dead. Otherwise it goes against the whole direction that The

I think it is important to believe Two-Face is dead. Otherwise it goes against the whole direction that The Dark Knight was headed...Joker making Batman break his one rule...Batman killing Two-Face in order to save Gordon's son. Batman doesn't kill people or at least wasn't capable of it until The Joker came along.

Clayface wont work in Nolans Universe. NO way to do a realistic version of that character. Besides, Bats already fought him in Gotham Knight, the prequel to TDK.

The next one will feature Two Face (he's not dead, come on) and The Riddler. The Riddler will be some fucking psycho who leaves fucked up puzzles at his crime scenes. Selina Kyle will be introduced. She will be a love interest for Bruce but a villain for Batman. It will be revealed to the audience that Selina is Catwoman, but

We'll have some bad ass Chick fights between Harley and Catwoman. Also Bruce will find out Catwomans Identity. Joker and Harley vanish. Bruce fakes Harvey Dent's Death, but secretly places him in Arkham again and pays for his psych treatment and also plastic surgery. Tommy Lister will show up at the end and he will be revealed as Bane.

In the fifth they'll introduce Dick Grayson who's acrobatic parents were killed in cold blood during a performance b/c they witnessed a mob hit. Bane will be their killer. Catwoman will be back. Dick Grayson will go after Bane but Bats will jump in and save the day. We'll get a crazy bad ass Bane/Bats fight that will end with Bruce getting his back broken ("know your limits, sir". Batman has no limits, Alfred")

This will lead to a Dick [link] Spin off...

haha I'm just ramblin. I dunno.

RIDDLER 2011!!!!

What about Batzarro?

Maybe not Batzarro specifically, but what about a Batman clone, or a copycat who's more evil than good.

But I like the idea of The Riddler, because The Riddler was the only person to really discover Batman's true identity, and it would be nice if Batman could do something terrible to shut The Riddler up, but only because it's necessary. That could really tie in to this dark side of The Batman which should be more prevalent now that Rachel Dawes, the love of his life,

Enough with motherfucking Batman already. Joblo.com is my one of my favorites ever but reading a Batman article every 2 minutes is getting on my nerves.
The Dark Knight was no fucking 10/10 and you know it. Too long, Batman's gay voice, they should have left 'Batman' in the title, The Joker's first 2 appearances were his best, Batman was not cool to see anymore unlike in Batman Begins, his dissapearance act got old and they should have saved Two Face for the next one.
Considering all those

Considering all those things I still loved it, 8/10 now maybe 9/10 after a 2nd viewing.
And finally now that TDK came out and the Bat dust settled it starts all over again with The Prince Of Gotham (oh no now I gave 'em a title for the next movie).
But this rant is more of a Come on Joblo, cool it on Batman! I'm a fan like the next fruit bat but enough is e-fucking-nough.

I can't claim to have an intimate knowledge of the batman universe but imho the most fesible villain for the next movie would be Hush, possibly including his link to the Riddler (not played by Depp). I can't fault Nolan's take on batman, but it is somewhat limiting in terms of villains as none can posess superpowers and remain a plausable adversary to batman. I prefer the lack of 'powers' but still, the limits are there i think. Anarky could also work well, maybe hinting at a robin-esque

FORGOT TO ADD.....

....yes, Harley Quinn would be an awesome addition to Nolan's universe. Not the comical kind, but the psychotic killing-b*tch kind. Can you imagine Harley with those scars courtesy of yours truly? Wow. Scary shit. That's a part of The Joker that wasn't explained in TDK. Not a love life, but how The Joker would relate to someone similar. Like I said, recast The Joker and let the character grow. Ledger loved the character and I'm sure recasting him is not an insult whatsoever.

It will be

Ben Stiller as The Riddler. He was on TDK set quite often, getting to know Bale & Nolan. That was the rumor on-set.

Considering how small Nolan originally intended the Penguin to be in Dark Knight I don't see him coming back here (even if it was just to work with Hoffman).

I agree that Jolie as Catwoman is a horrible idea. What worked about Pfeiffer was, like Keaton, she didn't stand out as Selena Kyle and wasn't the most obvious choice...she didn't look like she could be Catwoman when she was out of costume either...Jolie does unfortunately.

A suggestion I recently heard mentioned was Michael C. Hall

A suggestion I recently heard mentioned was Michael C. Hall as the Riddler, which I think could work because, unlike Crispin Glover's portrayal we need less of an eccentric and more of a real person as our criminal mastermind (take the character as far away as possible from Schumacker's Riddler).

Also John C. Reilly as The Ventriloquist (playing the character completely straight obviously). I always thought that Perlman would make a far better Killer Croc (and Clayface is a bit too supernatural a character to work in Nolan's Batman...even though I'd love to see it). Mr Freeze is also far too supernatural a character. How about The Mad Hatter instead? I love the idea of Black Mask though or maybe even Hush.

I'd rather have Harley as some nutjob fangirl/copycat of the Joker. Dark Knight presented the idea of Batman copycats, how dangerous would Joker copycats be?

UPS & DOWNS

Angeline Jolie has reached too much of a pop-queen status to be in Nolan's Gotham, so she's probably the worst damn choice for Catwoman. Seymour could do well as Penguin only Penguin isn't really interesting in terms of what Nolan could do with him. I'm all in for Johnny Depp as The Riddler though, except for one thing; overshadowing Christian Bale as Batman. Even now with Ledger's performance Bale is being completely overshadowed and I'd hate to see that happen again. Let's not forget that it

Even now with Ledger's performance Bale is being completely overshadowed and I'd hate to see that happen again. Let's not forget that it was his performance as THE definitive Batman that allowed for TDK to happen. As much as I love Ledger's performance, Bale deserves a whole bunch of credit, too. Depp would make an awesome Riddler as long as Batman has enough screentime. I wouldn't want to see Clayface unless it's completely logical. Mr.Freeze, maybe. But more than The Riddler, I'd like to see BANE in the next film. And some really gritty physical fight scenes between the Bat and his nemesis.
**TDK Spoiler Alert**
Also, I understand that everyone loves Heath Ledger's performance and say that he shouldn't be recast. I, for one, say that The Joker should return and he should be recast for the simple reason that the character is pivotal to Batman's universe. I'm sure Nolan already had plans for him for the third film. Ledger's acting was phenomenal but I'm sure even he would have wanted the character to carry on and not just come to a halt. Nobody will be able to top Ledger's performance, but at least they can try and probably make it good. Daniel-Day anyone?

Clayface

I think clayface would be the next logical choice. For one thing he hasn't already been done, I think that was part of the appeal of the first movie was the villians were new. I think ron pearlman should play him as he did the voice for the animated series. anyone agree?

If anything, everyone seems to agree on two things. No one can replace Heath Ledger and everyone's saying, "I believe in Chris Nolan!"

Whatever the real villain ends up being, I never want to see Angelina Jolie in this universe. I can't stand watching her, she always seems to be 'aware' that she's in a movie (if that makes any sense), it's so annoying!

all very weak ideas.

i propose john malkovich as mr. freeze.
he's the only villain with a story that actually interests me, regardless of schummacher's terrible interpretation, and if anyone can pull of relatable sociopath types (that also happen to be bald), it's malkovich.

and no recasting the joker. if anything shameless can be done in ledger's honor, it should to leave his performance be and not trivialize it with another's.

either way, i believe in christopher nolan!

Am i the only one that would over look them recasting the joker? Heath was amazing but its not out of the question that someone else could play the joker.

halle berry for catwoman

Actually those three rumored ones are better actors, but sound just as boring as Berry for bat-villains. Catwoman could be cool, jolie's got the attitude but is no longer young or strong enough. And they would need somebody else as well, a real evil villain. And who could possibly better the Joker?

There's only one choice for The Riddler...

...And that man is none other than Crispin Glover.

Seriously, look at that Riddler pic at the top and tell me you don't see it. It's fucking uncanny in every way!

As for those other choices...Well, I love Johnny Depp, but I've already made up my mind on this.

Philip Seymour Hoffman could actually work, but it'd be tough for that character to not come off as slightly silly.

As for Catwoman, I am SICK of seeing Angelina Jolie on everything. She's so fucking far from the hottest woman

I'm one of the ppl who believe Mr. Reese "good with numbers" Joshua Harto becomes Riddler and assume Two-Face lives.
The list is just ridiculous, where did u get that?

1. Won't happen. Johnny Depp is good. But not that good. The Riddler is uninteresting.
2. Won't happen. Philip Seymour Hoffman is good. The Penguin is uninteresting.
3. Won't happen. Angelina Jolie is not an actor. She just looks good.

These are all bullshit rumours.

I would vote for Black Mask or/and The Reaper.

Mr Freeze

The absolute best casting I can think of for Mr Freeze, if they go with that somehow, would be Rodrigo Santaro, aka, Xerxes in 300

Also Phillip Seymour Hoffman is my favorite from that list

Please, no Catwoman... Nolan did a good job on character development in both films, Catwoman's just too boring. Riddler... well, Carrey was cool, but the Riddler lacks depth to make 'im interesting.

I'd much rather like to see several thugs doing their thing, such as Bane and Mr. Freeze for instance. Bane was just a plain ol' scary motherf*cker, and Freeze, well... Arnie's/Schumachers interpretation sucked. Clayface could be fun too, but I fear that it might turn into a CG fest too much

I trust Nolan

At this point Nolan could cast Dane Cook as the bad guy and I would trust him.

Angelina certainly has the attitude to play Catwoman. And I mean, they are all fantastic actors. I think they would be able to fit into current style of the films.

I'm personally much more interested in the how the story will carry on rather than the actual villain.
