Battle of Batmans

06.27.2008

Christian Bale's revamped Batman has been getting plenty of attention as THE DARK KNIGHT prepares to swoop into theaters. But has anyone considered how the Batmans who have come before might feel about being lost in the new Bruce Wayne's shadow?

Someone has, actually. And done a fine job of it (without having to deal with the inordinate actor salaries and production costs). See for yourself.

Meh

The idea had a lot of potential, but was squandered by:

1) Too much fighting, not enough dialogue (example: From Batman Returns, Michael Keaton saying "We're the same" in the end scene where he's actually talking to Catwoman -- could've been used as if he was talking to another batman).

2) Woulda been better to have written some kind of script and then built the editing around it.

3) An [link] ending

Pretty Cool

Some nice editing there. I stil enjoy Beetlejuice as Batman.

Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney were at a disadvantage because of the direction the studios wanted to go with Batman. Back then they were pretty much doing an update version of the tv show. Fortunately today, Nolan, and Bale were given the greenlight to make the Batman films closer to the comics and with a harder edge.

Dellamorte

I don't think you can really accurately figure how Clooney would have been as Batman because the script which he had to work with was such cliche riddled crap that it was just beyond repair no matter who you put in the cape.

As for the video itself... really enjoyable and it did edit quite nicely.

That was terrific and yes obviously it wasn't made by someone who lives in their mother's basement , it's way too polished to be done by anyone other than professionals .

Highlights just how cool Keaton and Kilmer were in the role , and it even somewhat makes Clooney serviceable .

Well damn. I guess they realized how dark all the batman movies are. Makes them al awesome contenders to fuck around with. That was truly amazing. my favorite part was also in the beginning when Michael Keaton made that awesome "Surprised" face. Classic.

kilmer

This clip actually made me accept Kilmer as Batman.

I was smiling the whole time I was watching it and amazed to see Batmans fighting. Now do Wit-Wars with the Alfreds!

Impressive

That was totally sweet. Looked great, and it even made me want to go back and watch the older batman movies.

Holy Hell!! This trailer is so professional and awesome. Well, we both know which Batman is from which movies. But mannn, this gave me goosebumps. I really like how the trailer ends. Freakin' Awesome. Bravos to those who made this trailer.

...WOW...I have massive goosebumps after watching that absolutely mesmerizing fan edit. Seriously, give these guys JOBS in Hollywood.

This is an obvious inspiration from the Robocop Vs Terminator vid, and the many that spawned from them afterwards
