Michael Bay must have feared for his life after the internet erupted in fury over Optimus Prime’s lips in that now infamous TRANSFORMERS TV spot, because now he’s come out saying that the clip isn’t even in the movie and that it was just a test shot. There was this on his official website:

“The unreleased ad (Prime speaks) that was posted on youtube was a test that European were making with the ads. The clip where OP was “speaking,” lets just say that it wasn’t OP or Cullen speaking. It was something the European studios added on their own. In fact, it was a test shot.”

Sure it was Michael, sure it was. I’m certain most fans won’t give a shit or damn, as long as the scene isn’t in the movie and he doesn’t have lips. But that did not look like a test shot to me. I personally don’t care if he does or doesn’t have lips. I just want to see if Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf are going to end up together or not, because that’s what this movie is really about. It’s a love story above all else, clearly .

Beatowner -- yes, I have -- twice. It was called Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense, and they were both exactly what I thought they'd be. Every thing else he did was shit, but those two were....well, not great, but good.



Anyway, just how would an ad agency even be allowed to screw with the material like this? The studio, maybe.....they're dumb enough. Granted, I'm not saying I'm...

What exactly does look like a test shot to you? I mean since weve all seen them before. I buy it, it makes sense and if he took it out because of the uproar i think he would have said that. You guys get me, 'that didnt look like a test shot to me' like you just know.

Some ad agency wanted to introduce one of the main transformers, and they probably added the lips and dubbed the lines themselves thinking "well, we cant have him introduce himself without a damn mouth!" and in the context of a 30 second ad, a robot that just has a voice originate out of nowhere might seem weird to the average joe.



These ad agencies fuck up and change around bits and pieces of movies all the time, I mean c'mon, has anyone seen a M. Night Shyamalan movie that was correctly represented in it's trailers?

I couldn't give less of a rat's ass whether the giant transforming robot in the movie has lips, hair or a 3 inch cock, as long as the movie is great!

You know...I really dindt like the lips but what the hell, once sh*t starts to blow up Michael Bay style, I won't care. But I do remember them having lips, yeah.

Recently watched the cartoon again and found that not only do the robots have lips but also teeth and a tongue, so why fanboys are up in arms about this i don't know, Bay's only being loyal to the source material?!
