Behold, the rather awesome opening credits for Super

SUPER might not be near a theater near you yet (and it's definitely not near me), but you can get a taste of what you might find when you do finally catch it.

Yes, KICK-ASS may be the mainstream "everyman superhero" go-to movie, but SUPER looks to offer a unique perspective on the genre. And it stars Rain Wilson, Ellen Page, Nathan Fillion, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon! You can't beat that.

Check out the intro below, which is a rather epic hand drawn animated sequence exploring just how badass Wilson's titular character really is. Look for SUPER near you, and report back your findings if you have seen it.

Extra Tidbit:	From the looks of this, it seems like it could be its own Adult Swim series.

You can watch Super on DirectTV cinema I think. I was scrolling through their new movies last night and it was on there.

I saw Super a week ago and it is terrific! It is much more than I thought it would be. I went into it thinking it would be a violent gore fest. But the movie has a ton of heart and story. Sure it is violent, but who cares, I think it added to the over all fun of the film! James Gunn is a master at what he does and in Super he shows us that!

Also...

I should, however, also add that Rainn Wilson gives an incredible performance. I love his work in the office, but he is a revelation in this film. Worth seeing just for him.

Alas, no...

Saw the movie over the weekend and, while not bad, it was definitely a letdown. I'm a huge James Gunn fan, but honestly think he was the wrong person to make this film. It was a mish-mash of poingant, brutal, and downright enigmatic (Ellen Paige is great, but her character has no reason to exist.) All the disparate elements never came together very well, I'm afraid. There are scenes that will knock you on your ass in the good way, and others in the bad way. Check it out, sure, but adjust your

Still awesome, but when I read the title, I somehow read Super 8 there. I realize it would be silly of them to release such a thing so early, but still, I was really excited for a moment.
