Bellucci is Un-Dead?

04.25.2007

Monica Bellucci Last May, Variety reported on a Jan de Bont produced, Stoker Estate approved sequel to Bram Stoker's original "Dracula" novel titled THE UN-DEAD. In the almost year since, the film has apparently landed a director and two noteworthy stars. According to BlackFilm, JUICE director Ernest Dickerson will be helming the film with Javier Bardem being tapped to play the legendary undead vampire and JoBlo.com eternal crush Monica Bellucci playing Lucy. With a script by Ian Holt, the story takes place twenty-five years after the events of the original novel with all characters from said novel, including Jonathan and Mina Harker, Professor Van Helsing and axed original character Inspector Cotford, returning to try to once again put the all-powerful bloodsucker away for good.

Extra Tidbit: The confusingly cryptic "The Dead Un-Dead" was one of Stoker's original titles for "Dracula", and up until a few weeks before publication, the manuscript was titled simply "The Un-Dead". That is, of course, until Stoker ran across the Romanian word "Dracul" and the rest is, as they say, made-up bullshit.

If and when this comes to fruition, it will suck. Wait and see. I might rent it on Netflix if Bellucci shows her boobies, like she did in Coppola's Dracula, only so I can masturbate to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

i love her, but belluci can't be lucy. for one, lucy's already been staked by arthur. for another, belluci herself was a bride who got decapitated by sir anthony in BSD. for a third....this whole thing has the taint of possible heavy suckiness.

no pun intended, of course.

I will forever spurn that atrocity known as FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA'S DRACULA. And on that note, how DARE they claim it to be "Bram Stoker's," when so much of what made the real novel so magic was MISSING from that infernal beauty-and-the-beast tripe?!

Then again, maybe this will be better.

novel?

Is the movie based off of a novel, or is it an "original" screenplay?

Mmmm....Bellucci.

Love Monica Bellucci and she's a great fit for Lucy...though I've never read this particular book, it's definitely worth a viewing.
