Ben Affleck may tackle the Black List film script American Bullshit as his next project

Since Ben Affleck continues to be the hot shit right now in Hollywood what with his excellent crime drama THE TOWN now having made about $145 million worldwide, the actor/writer/director today sits in the very enviable position of being able to pick his next project. Last we heard, he was offered a chance to direct and possibly star in the fantasy film REPLAY, about a man that relives his life over and over again.

Or will he be making something called AMERICAN BULLSHIT instead? According to Deadline, Affleck – while not yet committed to it – is apparently seriously considering it. The BULLSHIT script, ranked 8th among the Black List scripts of 2010, was written by Eric Warren Singer (THE INTERNATIONAL). The drama is described as “the true story of Abscam, the FBI’s 1980 undercover sting operation of Congress to root out corruption which was the brainchild of the world’s greatest con man.”

Apart from AMERICAN BULLSHIT and REPLAY, Affleck is also linked to a film called THE TRADE, about infamous wife-swapping Yankee ballplayers Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich. He and broheim Casey were reportedly on board to re-write the film (with good chum Matt Damon possibly directing).
