Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill are on Neighborhood Watch in this teaser

Feb. 29, 2012by: Paul Shirey

We've seen a few images of the Akiva Schaffer (HOT ROD) directed NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH, starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill and now we have a teaser to give us a peek at what's in store.

Take a stroll:

The synopsis is pretty simple for a high-concept comedy:

Suburban dads form a neighborhood watch group to get time away from their families, only to discover a plot to destroy Earth.

The pic is written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the team behind SUPERBAD, and has a great comedic cast, which also includes Billy Crudup, Doug Jones, Richard Ayoade, Will Forte, and Rosemarie DeWitt. Looks like a lot of fun to me. Putting these guys in a film together, let alone a room, is a pretty damn good recipe for some great comedy.

We'll find out when the neighborhood invasion begins on July 27, 2012.

I personally thought the bit at the end was funny. I'll see this movie.

I think getting this kind of cast together for a movie called "Neighborhood Watch" is pretty good, however I'm disappointed they're for some reason involving a plot about aliens. This project should have been more like "Old School", and less like "Men in Black".

Let me know when a trailer pops up without that annoying rap shit and I'll let you know my opinion. I was able to last about 5 seconds.

I don't know. I'm getting kinda sick of seeing Stiller, Vaughn, and even Hill. Sure, they made some good movies in the past, but they've been more miss than hit. And I would've dismissed this as another one of their mediocre ensemble comedies, had I not heard about the alien invasion angle.

It's not that I don't like Hill, but I feel like Hollywood is pushing the new him way too hard and that bit between him and Stiller is ten years too stale.

yawn

wow, this looks painfully unfunny. Epic Fail. Like Eddie Murphy before them, all three have lost their mojo. Their name above the titles does not equal laughs.

Ugh

These guys need to stop making movies. That trailer wasn't funny at all, and I find Stiller and Hill more annoying than comedic. I'll pass on this one.

I'm still intrigued but this was a terrible trailer that showed nothing about the "alien invasion" plot they're focusing on.

It started off looking like a cheap music video (REALLY? The guy who runs over his flowers with the lawnmower? How many times we have seen that?) and than finished painfully unfunny.
