Ed. note: This week on the DVD Clinic, each of our editors presented a year end wrap-up featuring the best and worst in DVD and Blu-ray from 2008. Here’s what they thought were the some of the best in DVDs of the year and there’s a link under each author where you can check out their full list of picks. Enjoy!

BEST OVERALL DVD/BLU-RAY
Sleeping Beauty (Platinum Edition)
“Disney goes all-out for their latest PE: behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted songs, an alternate opening, insightful commentary, activities for kids, and much more. Biggest selling points: the digital restoration and the original 2.55:1 aspect ratio, previously unavailable on home video.”

BEST OVERALL DVD/BLU-RAY
Godfather: The Coppola Restoration
The best films of all time receive what can only be described as the definitive re-mastering of all time. Paramount pulled out all the stops for this wonderful collection and the films have never looked so good.

MOST WORTHWHILE DOUBLE-DIP
The Big Lebowski: 10th Anniversary Limited Edition
Well, the restored GODFATHER set fits this category best, but for the sake of not repeating myself we’ll go with THE BIG LEBOWSKI 10th Anniversary Limited Edition. A cool bowling ball case, respectful special features for fans and participation from pretty much everyone involved, make this one DVD that’s worth upgrading.
