Bill Pullman & Tony Hale join Jesse Eisenberg’s action comedy American Ultra

The action comedy AMERICAN ULTRA from PROJECT X director Nima Nourizadeh started production yesterday in New Orleans, and Deadline is reporting two actors have joined the cast at the last minute. The site has learned Bill Pullman and Arrested Development star Tony Hale have signed on for AMERICAN ULTRA.

AMERICAN ULTRA also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Topher Grace, John Leguizamo and Walton Goggins, and the script comes from CHRONICLE scribe Max Landis. Eisenberg will play "Mike, a stoner slacker whose secret past as a highly-trained sleeper agent upturns his small-town life with girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart) as he’s thrust into a covert government operation."

Lionsgate purchased the U.S. distribution rights for AMERICAN ULTRA for $7 million last month, and there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming film. I think AMERICAN ULTRA has the potential to be a very fun movie, and I'm really digging the cast, especially with these two new additions.

AMERICAN ULTRA currently doesn't have a release date, but will likely hit theaters sometime in 2015.
