So who's confident to see the Captain Marvel movie finally get made? At least it's been heading to us under the same director, Pete Segal, for about 3 years so that's a good sign, right?

Scribe Bill Birch also sounds confident his treatment written in partnership with Geoff Johns will make the grade. Or at least it'll be his own thing, since he mentions disregarding every previous treatment made for the film.

"Geoff and I are in the thick of it, creating a kickass update that still honors the lore that's been created in over 50 years of Marvel storylines." Birch revealed to the folks of Cinefools during a recent chat. " The way the story is shaking out, Geoff and I see this not as "dark" as Dark Knight but definitely as cool. It'll probably end up with a PG-13 rating. Tonally I think it's important to successfully find the balance of comedy and danger in the story. That’s a major aspect I’m focusing on. Frankly hitting the right tone is what’s going to either get this made or keep it in development hell."

So...PG13... Does that mean Disney's new protege Dwayne Johnson will indeed appear as Black Adam like it's been rumored for a long time? "I know that Pete Segal and Dwayne have a relationship that was solidified when Pete directed Get Smart. As far as him being committed? I'm sure it'll all depend on the script. That being the case I don't write with anyone in mind."

Extra Tidbit: Birch also claimed he would've thought Ryan Reynolds interested in playing the good Captain, but the dude's got more superpowers than he can handle these days...
