I guess spending nearly a decade making THE LORD OF THE RINGS touches you a considerable amount, since everyone from the first film seems to want to play a part in THE HOBBIT, even though their characters didn’t exist in the original book. Today we have Cate Blanchett weighing in on the movie. She says that “I haven’t heard a thing [about a potential ‘Hobbit’ film]… But, oh God, I would love to work with Hugo [Weaving] and Peter [Jackson] again.” And then, in regards to someone other than Jackson directing: “I heard that someone was going to make it… [But] It would seem very odd [without Jackson.]” Obviously, I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes here, but it seems like unless he drop-kicked some producer in the face, then it’s a no-brainer to get Jackson back onboard. Stay tuned to find out what happens, I guess!
