SYMPATHY FOR DELICIOUS is a project that Mark Ruffalo had been developing as his directorial debut with James Franco set to star until Ruffalo’s brother tragically passed back in December. Now though it seems that the project has been brought back in to the foreground with Orlando Bloom and Laura Linney among the leads.
The movie will follow a paralyzed DJ, struggling to survive on the streets of L.A., who turns to faith healing and mysteriously develops the ability to cure the sick — although not himself. The DJ then decides to cash in on his gift in exchange for his rock ‘n’ roll dreams. Bloom, taking over for Franco, will play the frontman of a tough-as-nails rock band. Linney plays as the band’s manager working hard to stay relevant in a 21st century musical world.
Oh yeah, Orlando Bloom as a tough-as-nails rockstar. That’s tremendous. I haven’t seen casting this bad since that doctor put that flesh coloured plaster cast on Peter’s broken hand that was in the shape of a middle finger. Ok, so it’s probably time to turn Family Guy off.
