Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Dec. 4, 2009

Depending on what you believe, director Paul Greengrass has no intention of coming back for his third BOURNE movie, amidst reports of supposed creative problems and studio tension.

But apparently Matt Damon just thinks Greengrass is taking his time, but the star is ready whenever. As Damon tells Collider: "I’ll just wait for him and when he wants to do one, we’ll do it."

So how about returning as the slightly amnesiac government assassin for a different director? Damon says if the Grass ain't Green, he won't play: "Yeah, I’ve always said that. But I think it will happen down the road. We just don’t have a script right now."

While another globetrotting spy adventure will have to wait, Damon's schedule is busier than ever -- he's already got Soberbergh's LIBERACE and the Coens' TRUE GRIT rolling next year, probably on top of a half-dozen other things.

Extra Tidbit: Something tells me another BOURNE is about as likely as Damon coming back for another DEPARTED...

Won't Lie
I would see it opening day if they made one but I'm not torn up that Paul Greengrass is dragging his feet. I've loved all three and there's a ton of talent in these films but the ending to the third film felt good and solid. Not sure there's anymore story to tell...

Maybe,
Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get another bourne in 20 years, and he'll go to the Amazon and find out aliens caused his amnesia.....

Quit while you're ahead
I think the first 3 did a great job, and wrapped up the Bourne story just fine. With the more time that pasees, another film would feel tacked on and out of place, much like Indy 4 which also had the same director and star return.

No rush for another Bourne.
They should stop right where they are, sure it might be nice to see another Bourne movie, but if the director isnt ready for another, then pack it up and call it good.

No Greengrass? Good... cause he's a fucking hack anyway. Get somebody who can direct action WITHOUT the shaky-cam bullshit. Next...

I do tend to agree with Darko but I can't say I didn't like the second and third films. It would be cool to see someone else handle BOURNE, see what they could accomplish...

I'm getting Bad Vibes...
from these latest "Bourne articles". I think doing a fourth one is a bad idea because I think the trilogy ended on a very high note and I would hate to see the franchise ruined by a fourth.

I concur...another Bourne would be cool...oh wait a minute, what's that...we have Green Zone coming out which practically looks exactly like another Bourne movie but without those pesky names again.

Though Green Zone does look cool (for the fourth entry in a series, adoy)

They should wait like 10 years and then make that novel where Bourne is an old man working in some university. I want another Bourne, but not another "I don't remember anything-Bourne". Put him in action in something different.
