Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett for Woody Allen's next?

03.30.2012

After winning an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and with TO ROME WITH LOVE already set to come out in just a few months, you could say Woody Allen is on a bit of a roll right now.  As much as someone who has made nearly a movie a year for over thirty five years can be "on a roll," anyway.

And in the typical Allen way, he humbly keeps right on rolling as part of his apparent mission to work with every halfway decent actor and actress in the film business.  We already know about the possibility of his next film being set in Copenhagen, and now it has come to light that Allen wants Bradley Cooper to be a part of his upcoming untitled film's ensemble with Cate Blanchett in one of the starring roles.  Nobody connected with Allen would comment on the casting rumors at this time.

Hopefully as we get closer to the release of TO ROME WITH LOVE (June 22nd) Allen will have more information for us, but until then... who else that Allen has not worked with yet would you like to see him recruit?

Extra Tidbit: Would it be too fanboyish of me to vote for Nathan Fillion? Because I'd actually really like to see that.

Would like to see Woody Allen work with Matt Damon, George Clooney, Luke Wilson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ryan Gosling.

Go ahead and minus me

...but I just don't see why the hell everyone on this site swears Nathan Fillion is anything more then just a charismatic TV actor. Anyways this sounds good, and as for your question, how bout Bill Murray?

Well... he IS a charismatic TV actor. But that doesn't mean he couldn't make the transition to charismatic film actor, right?

Sure, theoretically. But he wouldn't be perfect for EVERY role. Has there ever been a 'who would you like to see cast' question posed without people saying Nathan Fillion? I just don't get it is all lol. Like I say, he's got charisma and screen prescence, but so does practically every actor in Hollywood (barring some exceptions obviously). You'd think he was Daniel Day-Lewis by the way people clamor for him to be in stuff.

Fillion is a great actor. I think he could EASILY make the transistion from small screen to big screen. Also, the reason why he is so popular is because not only is he a great actor and nice guy, but he has a HUGE cult following with Firefly, Serenity, Dr. Horrible, Buffy, and Castle.

Damn, Cate Blanchett is a beautiful woman. She'll always be my celebrity crush. Nothing more beautiful than talent.

And yeah, I'd be all for this casting.

I'm neutral on Cooper but I'd be very excited if Blanchett signs on. I'd love to see Woody work with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.

Great casting! I am a big fan of Cooper and am glad to see him finally getting these great movie roles now.

Tidbit: It is not fanboy, the only thing it is is AWESOME.
