Broadbent does Hogwarts

It's a good since Warner Bros. is running out of Harry Potter movies to make (two left) because there aren't many more distinguished thesps for them to cast. There's like Sir Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, and then before you know it, you've got Renee Zellwegger putting on a British accent again. I say this because Academy Award-winning actor Jim Broadbent has just been cast in the sixth installment of the mega-franchise, HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE.

Broadbent (GANGS OF NEW YORK) will play a potions teacher with a predictably great Potteresque name of Horace Slughorn. Slughorn returns to Hogwarts after he is coaxed out of retirement by Dumbledore, who feels he can be an asset against the dreaded Death Eaters. I wish I'd read this book so I could at least throw down my opinion on Broadbent's casting, but all I can say I've always liked him, and he's one of the better British actors out there. He does jovial yet creepy better than most, and was a stand-out in ART SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL. He's also in that new Indiana Jones movie a few people are supposedly making.

Extra Tidbit: Broadbent is known as being very easy to work with.
