Brody w/ red spandex

Dec. 6, 2007by: Omar Aviles

Adam Brody Same story, different chapter, folks, but now the LA Times is jumping onto (Note: registration required) the Adam Brody as The Flash bandwagon. According to their source, the dreamy-eyed former "The OC" star has already closed the deal but Warner Bros. won't confirm the news because the film hasn't officially been green-lighted and they're waiting to round out the entire cast before they make the official announcement. From the way things are going, it seems we'll be seeing the scruffy-haired Brody as The Flash, Megan "loves to be naked" Gale as Wonder Woman, Scott Porter as the Man of Steel, Aussie hottie Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul and rapper Common as Green Lantern. We better get an official announcement soon because all this speculation is making all of us (by which I mean the internets) a little antsy.

Extra Tidbit: What did everybody think of Kyle Gallner as Flash on "Smallville"?

WHY?

Why does Warner Brothers do this? Thy could have stellar word of mouth and please at least the very vocal, if not huge number of fanboys out here (the fanboy backing didn't help hugely underappreciated Serenity much) if they didn't stubbornly "do their own thing" all the damn time. For every Dark Knight we get a Catwoman and Batman & Robin...and now it looks like JLA will join those latter ranks. There goes my childhood dreams of seeing a cool JLA movie.

I'm almost going to enjoy how hard the WB is going to fall on their face with this one. I don't particularly mind Adam Brody as Wally West, but still...overall, the casting that I've heard of so far...just awful.

While Brody has his strong spots, I'm just musing how nobody on there but Common matters a bit to me, and he very little. I'm just glad there aren't a bunch of people clamoring to say Ryan Reynolds is the guy to cast, cuz he deserves better than this project. Maybe they'll make a Flash stand-alone soon, and then appease fanboys with getting another dude.

And still no one cares...I cannot believe they are actually going ahead with this.
