Is Josh Brolin trading in JONAH HEX's six-shooters for a neuralyzer and plasma blaster?

According to the LA Times, the genre-friendly Oscar-worthy actor tops the wish list for the next MEN IN BLACK flick. They don't know exactly who he'd play, but here's some speculation: "He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely."

As we heard just about a month ago, TROPIC THUNDER writer Etan Cohen was at work on a script to bring back the dark-suited secret agents (Jones and Will Smith have not officially agreed to return yet).

Sony is hoping to get the clandestine government guys fending off alien threats (extraterrestrial and domestic) some time next year, although Brolin already has the Coen's TRUE GRIT and the thriller CARTEL on his schedule.

I felt like the first MIB came out of nowhere and rocked. Then they made MIB2 and it ruined the whole thing.

I want a MIB movie which has 2hrs. I mean really, the first one was like 90 min and the second one was even shorter at 80 mins! There's have to have some story and character buildup man.

Dont know why but I always thought part 2 was funnier than part 1. and the outtakes for part 2 are classic!

Put a girl there!
MIB2 was crap, but in case of MIB3 I wants a girl on the lead, a girl agent kicking alien's butts alongside Will. Some action girl like Jennifer Garner or Evangeline Lilly.

I loved the first movie, and Jones and Smith definitely made it what it is. I kinda feel like the sequel ruined things though. I think if they explore the government oversight that the MiB have to face it could be pretty funny, but I'm not against them retiring the franchise altogether.

I hate that EVERYTHING must be a "franchise" now...
I long for the good old days when the only "franchise" was James Bond. A sequel was rare, and Hollywood thought there were still fresh new ideas out there.

Take the series back to the early days and leave it there
I say go prequal. There is a lot of good stuff that could be done with the early days when MIB first encountered aliens of different kinds as well as the great alien migrations to earth.

The only Man In Black I want to hear about is the one the Gunslinger follows.

I swear, the first thought I had after reading the title of this article is about The Dark Tower seires, not the MIB. I second you man.

Vincent D'Onofrio's character was great. He's always stuck with me as one of my favorite villains. Much better than Lara Flynn Boyle and Johnny Knoxville..

MIB is a great series. And with Brolin in can only get better. Plus if they work Patrick Warburton back in. But what exactly did Brolin WIN an oscar for? If memory serves, he's only been nominated. For Milk.

Actually, Skellington, the original article listed him as an Oscar winner, but Dave Davis obviously corrected that error.

Nobody said Brolin won an Oscar. The article only mentioned he was Oscar-worthy. Pay attention man.

agree that you must have Smith and Jones in this flick... but i am really looking forward to a third MIB... they are fun flicks.. even the second one, which was admittedly much worse than number 1

I said this about Terminator Salvation (in regards to Arnold) and I'll say it about this too. Without Tommy Lee and Will don't even bother making it!
