The Chin himself Bruce Campbell reared his large noggin onto the interwebs last night. In an email to the good boys over at Ain't It Cool, Bruce spilled the skinny on the sequel to his self-starring horror-comedy MY NAME IS BRUCE to be entitled BRUCE VS. FRANKENSTEIN. Here's the email:

Hello everyone. Bruce Campbell here. This urgent message is short, because my keystrokes are monitored and I fear for my life. My partner at Dark Horse comics, Mike Richardson (normally a very rational and talented man), threatened to have his foot soldiers "crush my spleen" if I did what I am about to do. But the fans deserve to know, so with great trepidation I officially announce Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the sequel to My Name is Bruce. Principal photography begins this fall in Oregon. I'd like to live long enough to see the cameras roll, so please, for the love of God, do not tell anyone - I can't risk this announcement getting back to Mike! Thank you.

Shameless self-promotion! Don't worry, Bruce. I think you're gonna be a-okay.

I saw My Name Is Bruce at a screening in Columbus with the Q&A and being in the same room as him I felt my life was a little more full. God I can't wait for this.

Saw the first one with Bruce here in SF and had a good laugh. Recently watched it again on Netflix and was surprised at how the funny still held up (especially if you're a Bruce fan and realize all the inside jokes) on a second viewing.

My Name is Bruce was such a fun movie, the only thing I didn't like in it was the "monster". Hopefully with Frankenstein this one will kick ass!

Bruce Campbell's a good laugh and decent at physical comedy, but My Name Is Bruce was pretty flawed and really not as funny as it should have been, because the premise had potential. Hopefully they can improve on that for the sequel. Shame he passed on the Bubba-Ho-Tep sequel, though I can imagine Ron Pearlman will be pretty cool in the Elvis role anyway.

Like the news. I saw My Name is Bruce in some theatre in Boston with Bruce Campbell did the Q&A afterward. The movie was a fun time and Campbell is a very casual guy. Can't wait to see the trailer of the new one.
