Bruce Willis and Jai Courtney have a father-son shootout in this clip from A Good Day To Die Hard

Bruce Willis is bringing up the rear in the one-two-three punch of our '80's action-star revival, which began with Schwarzenegger's THE LAST STAND, continues with Stallone's BULLET TO THE HEAD on Friday, and culminates with A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD on the most romantic day of the year.  Can Willis outshine his compatriots?  The one thing he's got going for him that the others don't is a brand name in the DIE HARD franchise, which will likely draw in big bucks on the name alone.  Although most of us die-hard, uh, DIE HARD fans have noticed, the charm of the first three films has twindled, especially after the last fun-but-not-die-hard sequel LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

In this clip, we have John McClane (Willis) and Jack McClane (Courtney) squaring off with some Russian bad guys and getting themselves into a good ol' fashioned shoot out.  In an apparent homage to the first film, they use glass to "make it rain" on the Russkie villains with some father-son bonding to boot.  I don't know, out of context it's hard to call.  It's a given that I'm going to see this.  I'm a sucker for DIE HARD and that's just the way it is.  If it starred Eddie Murphy as the villain and took place in a toy store I'd still show up, like a shameful crack addict to a crack house.

Shoot the glass!:

I'm really hoping the R-rating equals more than a few CGI blood spatters, which I am so sick of seeing.  I'd rather see no blood if that's the case, because it's just as unrealistic.  I mean, really, have none of these guys seen a Paul Verhoeven flick?  Earn that R, damn it!  Okay, I'm calm.  We're good.  Maybe.

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD may or may not make up for the last entry on February 14, 2013.

Extra Tidbit: Bruce...we all know you're bald. But, the truth is, the hairpieces give you more character. Accept it. Go with it. I'm pretty sure Bruce Willis is reading this and taking diligent notes, by the way.

I really hope it is not really edited that badly....or the dialouge is that bad. Took a slight wind out of my sails.

It's clear that a lot of dialogue has been edited out there, even a few punches or so also. These clips are small tasters, they always have big missing chunks just to give you a general gist.

...I hope.

Tidbit

I agree, bald willis always plays the same, in the roles where he has some hair er disguise he instantly acts different, its like he realizes at that moment he is not himself anymore.
And offcourse it makes sense even john maclane can go bald but he needs to have some facial hair and maybe a little on his head too.

If Stallone was bald he would never play a bald rambo, it just aint right.

exactly my friend. You hit the nail right on the head with that statement. I think he plays all his action roles the same too until you give him a disguise, then he changes his demeanor.

Are people seriously bothered by his hair?

Or lack of it? What does it have to do with the role. He's got old, he had less and less hair so he cut it. Most balding guys do it. It would be worse and less manly if he kept wearing a toupee.
What you should be discussing is whether he can still act as McClane, not look like him.

yea he needs to have the same attitude as John McClane I'll grant you that, but with his bald head it does nothing to separate him from all his other action roles.

I hope that these action clips are so poorly edited for the internet only, and arn't like that in the actual movie.

I think they have been edited for the internet because we see McClane get zip-tie handcuffed, then we see his son cutting his own zip-tie, then both of them no longer have zip-tie handcuffs on. Either this is one of the worst continuity problems to come out of Hollywood, or it was edited for the internet and they cut out a lot.

I agree wholeheartedly with your extra tidbit. Without the receding hairline it does nothing to separate him from all his other action roles. This is not just another action role. This is a beloved character, and I don't think you should change the way he looks that much. That being said. I'm still looking forward to this, and hope it lives up to the Die Hard name. I didn't feel the last one fit into the Die Hard world, though I still enjoyed it.
