Bruce Willis might become an American Assassin

3 years agoby:

Bruce Willis is your go to guy if you need a cop or military personnel, or basically just an intimidating hard ass.

The actor is currently in negotiations to star in CBS Films' AMERICAN ASSASSIN. The story centers on, "Mitch Rapp, a former Syracuse grad student who joins the CIA after his girlfriend his killed by a terrorist attack. Willis will play a CIA operative who serves as a mentor to Rapp."

This is a role that Willis has been circling for quite some time now. Now that he's finally decided to join, the studio will now be looking for someone to take on the part of young assassin, Rapp. Willis must show him the way.

You can see Willis next in LOOPER alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. We also just posted Chris Bumbray's review from TIFF, so go check it out.

AMERICAN ASSASSIN is set to start production in the fall of 2013.

It's so weird that they'd have Willis playing Stan Hurley; since I first opened a Mitch Rapp series book I pictured him playing Rapp (though, much younger - Die Hard / Seagram days)!

The books are not that bad....

and Vince Flynn is a servicable writer. Though sometimes the books tend to get a bit too anti-Muslim, which as a Muslim, makes me a little uneasy to get passed that, but other than that they are just pure fun timepass. Very similiar to 24, not surprisingly since Flynn was a consultant of Season 5, arguably the best season (my fav is always Season 1). Didn't read AA, but its nice that they're going to start with Rapp's early days for the foundation of the character. And Bruce Willis's in any

P.S. Its great that there's a new wave of potential espionage action francise with this series and the Jack Ryan/John Clark series, but where the fuck is that 24 movie?!! Please God do not let it die!
