Caine is scared of Ledger

In probably the best news of the day, Michael Caine - when asked his thoughts on THE DARK KNIGHT - has told MTV that "Iíll tell you who itís about. Itís about Heath Ledger as The Joker. He will be the talking point of the next Batman.Ē It's getting to the point now where there's going to be no way the movie can possibly meet my ridiculous expectations. To top it off, Caine added that Ledger's is ďone of the scariest performances Iíve ever seen.Ē Hopefully this is the Joker that the comic book purists have been dying to see, finally. I remember reading stuff like the Arkham Asylum graphic novel and the the guy looked monstrous, not just like a lunatic with a white face. TDK has Batman and James Gordon teaming up with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent to take on a psychotic bank robber known as... well... you know who. He laughs a lot.
Extra Tidbit: As a joke, a Bat-suit was made with nipples on it. When it was presented to Bale he knew it was a joke though, having already seen production designs.

I can't think of another movie in the history of myself that's caused a more PAINFUL wait than this.

No, I think what he's saying is that he believes Ledger gives such a strong performance as the Joker that that's what people will be talking about... the thing about Nicholson's Joker overshadowing Batman in the Tim Burton version was that Burton apparently thought he was making a movie about the Joker, hence Nicholson's eating up all the screen time (and scenery).

Ledger the talking point?

So is this going to be another case of a Batman overshadowed by his villianous counterpart, the Joker, just like in '89's?
