Captain America helmer Joe Johnston may move on to an alien invasion flick

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Joe Johnston has tackled comics, dinosaurs, board games, and THE WOLFMAN so what’s next? If you guessed “zombies” then you’re wrong. However, if you guessed “aliens” then you…well…get the satisfaction of knowing that you were right.

The director is currently in talks to take on alien invasion flick, EXTINCTION. The plot is being kept under wraps but they did mention that it has something to do with a Father trying to save his family after aliens arrive on Earth. Basically you’ve seen it in some form or fashion before. For the most part, I’ve enjoyed the projects that Johnston boards so maybe this won’t be too bad.

Relative newcomer Spenser Cohen wrote the script.

For those wondering what’s up next to view from Johnston, you’ve got the indie thriller NOT SAFE FOR WORK with Max Minghella and GOTTI: IN THE SHADOW OF MY FATHER starring John Travolta and Anthony Hopkins. That last entry should be an interesting one to see.
