Captain America's duds will get a makeover in The Avengers
Comic fans probably assumed that Cap would be getting a costume upgrade from his WWII gear when he wakes in the 21st century to help THE AVENGERS, but CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER star Chris Evans has verified the new modern uniform.
"[It's a] new costume," Evans told MTV News. "Yeah, it's awesome. It's really cool."
Evans has already squeezed his buff physique into the spiffy stars-and-stripes ensemble: "I was worried because I started to get really attached to the old one. I really started digging it. It's not that easy to move in, but I started really liking it. The first time we tried a new one on, I was like, 'Oh, I miss the old one.'"
"I was just in Albuquerque a couple days ago [on the AVENGERS set] and we did a camera test with the new suit," he said. "It's pretty rad."
Until we get a peek at the new look in the inevitable spy photos or the first official pics, we'll see plenty of the old battlefield apparel when the Sentinel of Liberty takes on the Red Skull and the Nazis on July 22nd.
