Cast This: Daredevil

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Time to focus on “The Man Without Fear”.

This is the first hero in a four part series on Cast This. Make sure to check back over the next few weeks to see the rest, which will include Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. You wanted it– you got it. Marvel is doing their own original solo hero shows that will premiere exclusively on Netflix, and now we are here to debate who would be best for each role. Today we will cast Daredevil.

Daredevil is one of the more beloved in the Marvel Universe. I remember everyone being so excited to see the masked hero getting his own movie back in 2003. However, when the movie finally came out, there were several fans that weren’t too happy with it. If they were to reboot, now would be the best time. We’ve come so far with our superhero flicks, and maybe some day down the road we can have another shot at a Daredevil film. Instead, we might get a decent series involving the character. I think it has immense potential especially since Drew Goddard (CABIN IN THE WOODS) is serving as writer and director.

So who have you always had in mind for the role? I did not have any revelations this time while making dinner so I’m going to leave the dirty work up to you guys. I will add that I asked around to get some suggestions, which I will gladly share with you now: Michael Shannon, Patrick Wilson, Hugh Dancy, Jack Huston, Michael C. Hall, Ben Foster, and Bradley Cooper. I’m not sure how old they want the character to be. Also, I found that every name I came up with on my own was somehow attached to another character in the comic movie universe. Patrick Wilson was perfect for me, and was one of my contributions to the list of ideas…except he was Nite Owl and will soon take a role in ANT-MAN. I also thought that Hugh Dancy might be a nice choice. He’s been hitting it out of the park on HANNIBAL.

Alright, your turn. Cast this!

RESULTS FROM PREVIOUS ‘CAST THIS’: Ms. Marvel:

1.Yvonne Strahovski 2. Katee Sackhoff 3. Margot Robbie

Looks like the sandwich from a few weeks ago helped me out. Margot Robbie managed to pull off third place in the running for Ms. Marvel. Yvonne Strahovski won your hearts but Katee Sackhoff wasn’t far behind. I’d take any of these ladies for the role. Personally I like the idea of casting Katheryn Winnick as well. That girl kicks some major ass on VIKINGS. I think we should also mention that she got her first black belt in Karate at 13.
