I guess fans of the seemingly immortal CASTLEVANIA videogame series can relax -- your side-scrolling hero will not be brought to screens under the direction of noted gamer and franchise destructor Paul WS Anderson after all.

The a live-action version of the vampire-battling action games has a new lease on the undead, courtesy of STOMP THE YARD director Sylvain White. This guy is also planning a futuristic action movie called STATIC and an adaptation of Frank Miller's RONIN graphic novel, so clearly somebody in Hollywood saw something in STOMP THE YARD and I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER that I did not.

CASTLEVANIA will be White's next project... but don't worry, you Paul WS Anderson fan(s) -- he penned the script for the movie, which involves a family of knights fighting Dracula and other beasts (in castles, one assumes). Genre home Rogue Pictures is splashing screens with holy water.

Extra Tidbit: In the games, Dracula is often considered a "load bearing boss".

It will be a PG-13 romantic comedy with cute bunnies and flowers
I think Paul Anderson was the better choice out of the two but whatever. The director of Stomp The Yard? Are you kidding me? I think hollywood wants to purposely fuck the video game to movie industry with making horrible choices on every aspect of them. They might as well make it PG-13 now as that seems to be the trend nowadays. That'll put the final nail in this movie's coffin...ahaha...get...

Well, if Anderson's writing, it's still fucked. He's an OK director, but he's a terrible writer.

This doesn't look good. Most people may be happy about Anderson dropping out, but I'd much rather have the director of Event Horizon be behind the camera than the director of Stomp The Yard.
