Charlie Hunnam is in talks to join Emma Stone in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak

Me thinks Guillermo del Toro has found the DiCaprio to his Scorsese. Yes, I know he has Ron Perlman, but I was speaking age-wise. For the record, Perlman needs no sidekick. He is a lone wolf, and a badass one at that.

Anyway, it seems that Charlie Hunnam is in early talks to join Emma Stone in Del Toro’s CRIMSON PEAK.

The haunted house thriller being made by Legendary Pictures currently has no plot as it is being kept under tight wraps. This depresses me. Del Toro wrote the script with Matthew Robbins (MIMIC, DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK). Lucinda Coxon (WILD TARGET) recently did a rewrite on it.

What did you guys think of DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK? I thought it was entertaining, and certainly not a terrible remake. I always know that I am in very capable hands when it comes to the decisions of Del Toro. The guy knows what he’s doing, and certainly likes to do new and spectacular things with the genre, even if a remake isn’t exactly that. But I feel that he did a good job building upon something that was already in place with that flick.

CRIMSON PEAK should begin production in February of 2014.
